[Marginal keratitis in Behçet's disease].

One female patient in twenty-six years old, presents corneal marginal relapsed at the left eye, aphthae of inferior eyelid and aphthous stomatitis in episodically fits repeated at three-four weeks. Also she presents disorders of the intestinal transit and thrombosis of the right inferior limb, fragility of the vessels, thoracic neurodermatitis with presternal erythema; these phenomenon are improvement with cortico and immunomodulator therapy. On insist about present of the marginal, relapsed ulcus in Behçet disease.

[Sympathetic ophthalmia after a cataract operation].

Sympathetic ophthalmia remains a dreadful complication of ocular traumas, accidentally but also surgically occurred; it may induced by certain ocular components, which are strongly antigenic, such as the uveal material or the recently discovered retinal material, represented by the interphotoreceptor binding protein and the S-antigen. The occurrence of the disease seems to be favoured by the transferring of the antigenic material through the conjunctival lymphatic mesh opened by the trauma. The paper presents a female patient with sympathetic ophthalmia occurred after cataract surgery.

Cataract Extraction↗

[Ocular manifestations in non-Hodgkin's lymphomas].

Ocular manifestation in non-Hodgkin lymphomas are rare and they evolute as non-specific uveitis. The paper presents the case of a 8-year-old boy presenting iridic nodular lesion which had appeared in the evolution of a non-Hodgkin malignant lymphoma. Various ocular manifestations which may evolute with a non-Hodgkin malignant lymphoma are also presented.

Antineoplastic Combined Chemotherapy Protocols↗

[The ocular manifestations in AIDS].

Ocular manifestation in two observations on patients with anti-HIV positive antibodies are presented. The primer was done on a 47-year-old patient who presented retinal micro-vasculopathy with vetous exudates, retinal and pre-retinal hemorrhages and arterial obstructions at the right eye. The right eye vision was 2/50. The latter observation was done on a two-year and eight month old child with positive HIV who presented palpebral staphylococci and marginal keratitis at the left eye. These cases shows that AIDS, as an affection implying a small group of people, because of its epidemiological particularities and therapeutical difficulties must be known by ophthalmologists, being revealed by retinal primary vasculopathies and also by the presence of some ocular infections, as it has been in the latter observation.

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome↗

[Craniofacial dysraphism and dacryocystitis].

Two clinical observations with craniofacial dysraphism and affecting of the lacrimal ways are presented. The first observation was done on a 34-years-old patient, with medical craniofacial perforation (3-12), with telorbitism, right operated meningocele and left suprainfected lacrimal mucocele. The accentuated craniofacial dysraphism didn't permit dacryocystorhinostomy and imposed the extirpation of the left lacrimal mucocele. The second observation was done on a 6-years-old child with paramedian craniofacial perforation (3-11) and left suppurated dacryocystitis. The extirpation of the lacrimal bag was followed by purulent meningitis through continuity solution existent at the craniofacial level. It was insisted on effecting a through examination in craniofacial perforations for finding a craniocerebral continuity solution in the interventions done on lacrimal ways.

Adult↗

[Sectorial retinitis pigmentosa and acoustic neurinoma].

The case of a 56-year-old female patient is presented; she was hospitalized for decreased vision of both eyes, discrete hemeralopia, vertigo, right hypoacusis and occipital headache. The eye fundus examination showed lesions of retinitis pigmentosa in the inferotemporal sector and decreased arterial calibre. The patient was diagnosed neurologically as a right acoustic neurinoma with pontocerebellar syndrome. No other cases with the same symptomatology were noticed in the patient's family.

Cerebellar Diseases↗

[Crouzon's disease with papillary stasis].

The 3-years-old patient presents bilateral exophthalmia and papillar stasis at both eyes. The cranial examination shows the frontal boss at the level of the anterior fontanelle and the hypoplasia of the inferior facial floor. The cranial radiography shows digital impressions on the entire projection surface of the cap. The child also presents mental retardation. The affection integrates in the category of craniofacial dysostosis described by Crouzon, maladies which are transmitted autosomal with great penetrance.

Child, Preschool↗

[Postrubella secondary pigmentary retinopathy].

The paper presents the case of an 11 years-old child with secondary pigmentary retinopathy, atrial septal defect, facial dysmorphia with mandibular hypoplasia: all these malformations are part of the congenital rubeola syndrome. The patient has a twin brother presenting similar manifestations, but having a different expressivity.

Abnormalities, Multiple↗

[Keratopathy due to a spray].

The paper presents seven cases of corneo-conjunctival lesions produced by anti-aggressional spray. The corneal lesions were superficial and do not exceed in depth the Bowman membrane. Besides the ocular lesions, the patients presented irritative cough and general manifestations represented by a transient motor deficit, which produced the decrease of the defense capabilities during 15-30 minutes. The ocular lesions had a favourable evolution, excepting two cases with more severe evolution.

Administration, Topical↗

[Perforated corneal ulcer after recurrent herpetic keratitis].

The paper presents a case of spontaneous perforation of the cornea happened on an eye with neglected relapsed herpetic keratitis. It is discussed the role of corticotherapy, local toxicity of used antiviral drugs and neurotrophic troulles in the territory of the ophthalmic nerve, as being factors which could have hurried up the evolution towards the perforation. The relapses specific to infections with herpes simplex are favoured by the cantonment of the virus, in latent state, in the trigeminal ganglion but also possibly in the ocular tissues (including the cornea). The use of corticosteroids in deep herpetic keratitis must permanently have in view the possibility of persistence of the virus in the corneal tissue.
