[Impedance testing of compact bone tissue in hypokinetic rats].

The bioelectrical impedance method was used for determination of compact bone status in white rats after 28th days of strong hypokinesia. It was shown that the lowering of mechanical loading leads to disturbances in dielectric properties and changes in electrical impedance parameters. These disturbances had different direction and manifestation. It was distinguished the two typical variants of bone dielectric properties changes. The first variant was more characteristic for early stages of hypokinetic osteodestruction, the second variant was more characteristic for the fully development hypokinetic disturbances. It was determine a correlation between the changes in electrical impedance parameters and mane components of bone matrix. The results of this study show that hyperhydratation of bone tissue play important role in hypokinetic changes of bone dielectric properties. Electroimpedance method may be used for early diagnostic of bone state in clinic and experiments.

[Classification and review of technical devices for hypoxia therapy].

In the report there considered and compared the functional and constructive features of hipoxicators, divided in classification groups. The complex of medico-technical requirements to hipoxicators is formulated; prospects of perfection of therapeutic and diagnostic methods for hypoxitherapy and their hardware are estimated.

[The build-up of human reserve potential by exposure to intermittent normobaric hypoxia].

Effects of intermittent hypoxia at normal pressure (NPH) on physical and mental performance were studied in 32 essentially healthy human subjects. The 24-d NPH cycle was found to increase the maximal aerobic capacity as well as physical and mental performance. Growth of reserve and efficiency of the main physiological systems stipulated this gain in physical and mental performance. The authors make a presumption that NPH can be a part of preflight training, a measure to maintain an adequate level of human performance during orbital mission, and a method of rehabilitation post flight.

[The correction of arterial hypertension by oxygen deprivation].

Curative effect of oxygen deprivation has been examined in 147 patients with initial studies of hypertonic disease. It was used the intermittent model of the oxygen deprivation. The oxygen partial pressure in the breathing gaseous mixtures was 90-110 mm Hg. The positive effect was achieved in 79% of patients. Arterial pressure decreasing at the expense of different hemodynamic mechanisms depending on the type of blood circulation. It is proposing to use the oxygen deprivation as the correction method for the initial studies of the arterial hypertension.

[A method for diagnosing a disturbance in bronchial patency].

The authors elaborated the diagnostic method of bronchial disfunction by phonopulmography and gas mixtures with different density (two or three times lower than air). Using this method it is possible to do quantitative and qualitative estimation of initial bronchial disturbances. It may be used for express-diagnostic in ambulatory and clinical conditions.

Bronchial Diseases↗

[The use of an artificial mountain climate for treating and rehabilitating chronic bronchitis patients].

Sixty patients with obstructive and nonobstructive bronchitis were examined before and after high-altitude artificial climate treatment in a special climatotherapy box. Clinical and functional findings revealed a reduction of bronchial obstruction, increase of pulmonary capacity, improvement of the rate and aerodynamics, increase of local and regional lung ventilation. The results were better in obstructive bronchitis.

[Artificial mountain climate in therapy and rehabilitation of patients with chronic nonspecific pulmonary diseases].

Therapeutic efficiency of artificial Alpine climate was studied in a group of 318 patients with chronic nonspecific pulmonary diseases (CNDP). The Alpine climate was modelled on device "Orotron". The base, progradient and prolonged regimes of therapy by artificial Alpine climate (orhotherapy) were used in work. It is shown that application of optimal conditions of orhotherapy promotes normalization of the external respiration function in patients with CNPD due to a decrease in expression of broncho-obstructive and bronchitic syndromes and in nonuniformity of regional ventilation of lungs. Therapy by artificial Alpine climate is recommended to be used in wide clinical practice for treatment and rehabilitation of patients with CNDP.

[Physiological premises and mechanisms of normalizing effect of normobaric hypoxia and inhalation therapy].

Pathogenetic and physiological aspects of hypoxia problems have been considered. An opinion is stated that normalizing effect of intermittent normobaric hypoxia (INH) with short-term respiration of gaseous mixture containing at least 10% of oxygen in nitrogen is based on biorhythm inherent in all the living organisms with replacement of the high functional activity periods by the periods of rest and restoration with temporary physiological hypoxia as their typical companion. It is shown that for numerous diseases the course of INH or sessions of staying in the chamber of artificial mountain climate normalize the state of central nervous system, blood circulation, respiration, hemopoiesis and immunological reactivity, activate natural protective mechanisms and increase functional reserves of the organism. Allowing for anthropogenic pollution of the environment and its consequences for the health, it is advisable to widely adopt hypoxytherapy and orrhotherapy.

Cardiovascular Diseases↗

[Hyperventilation syndrome and reflexologic methods of its correction].

Acupuncture has been studied for possibility to be used for correction of hyperventilation disorders. Diagnostics of hyperventilation syndrome (HVS) was carried out on the basis of data of clinical, laboratory and functional methods. Acupuncture was carried out using the first (strong) variant of classical inhibitive procedure of acupuncture. It was shown that reflex therapy decreased electroencephalographic characters of dysrhythmia and exaltation and paroxysmal activity as well as inter-hemisphere asymmetry in patients with HVS. Parallel with a decrease in the degree of negative subjective sensations, minute respiratory volume, non-informity of regional ventilation were observed to decrease and partial oxygen pressure in alveolar air--to increase. The positive results of reflex therapy of HVS indicate that it is possible to correct hyperventilation disorders using no pharmacotherapy.

[The phonopulmographic topography of the lung].

The method of phonopulmographic topography of the lung developed by the authors is presented which permits determining elevation of apices, width of the Krönig fields topography of inferior borders and mobility of inferior border of the lung. The method of phonopulmography applied to study local and regional pulmonary ventilation is used as a basis. Examinations of practically healthy people and those with pulmonary pathology have shown that this method has high resolution, it is safe and informative.

[The effect of an artificial alpine climate on the functional mobility of neural processes in patients with autonomic vascular dystonia].

Effect of artificial mountain climate (AMC) on functional mobility of nerve processes (FMNP) was studied in a group of 46 patients with vegetovascular dystonias. The most essential physiologically significant parameters of the mountain climate were simulated on the unit "Orotron", the general atmospheric pressure remaining unchanged. It is shown that the course of AMC sessions tends to increase the working efficiency of the brain and functional mobility of the nervous processes in patients with vegetovascular dystonias. The pattern and degree of FMNP changes depend on individual characteristics of this property of the patients' nervous system. AMC may be recommended for use in clinical settings as a nonmedicamentous method of correction of functional disturbances in the central nervous system.
