[Endocrine spondylopathies].

The author reports results of a clinico-roentgenological examination of spinal column in 605 patients suffering of endocrine diseases and in 57 patients with myeloma disease and bone metastases. The roentgenological picture of different endocrine spondylopathies does not show any specificity and requires differential diagnosis.

Adult

[X-ray and radionuclide studies of bones and joints in psoriasis].

Radiography of the bones and joints was performed in 133 psoriatic patients; osteoscintigraphy with 99mTc-phosphate compounds was also performed in 42 of them. On the basis of x-ray findings 3 types of osteoarticular psoriasis were singled out: psoriatic polyarthritis, psoriatic polyarthrosis and psoriatic arthropathy. The most ample information on the type, activity and spreading of a pathological process in the bones and joints in psoriasis can be obtained from the combination of the x-ray and radionuclide methods.

Adolescent

[A comparative study of laboratory and x-ray data in the diagnosis of hyperparathyroid osteodystrophy].

X-Ray signs of hyperparathyroid osteodystrophy (HPOT) have been singled out in analysis of roentgenograms of 86 patients. Hypercalcemia has been detected in 76 +/- 5% of patients presenting an x-ray picture of HPOT, hypophosphatemia has been diagnosed in 66 +/- 5%, hypercalciuria in 72 +/- 6%, and increased alkaline phosphatase activity in 67 +/- 7%. Studies of the P-Ca metabolism should be carried out repeatedly over the course of hyperparathyrosis. Combined analysis of laboratory and x-ray findings will help improve the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of HPOT.

[The x-ray semeiotics of spinal involvement in psoriasis].

X-ray examinations of the bone and joint system in psoriasis patients with pain syndromes in the limb joints have revealed spinal involvement in many cases. The authors have distinguished and described x-ray semeiotics of the inflammatory (spondylitis, spondyloarthritis, sacroiliitis), degenerative dystrophic (intervertebral osteochondrosis, spondylarthrosis deformans, spondylosis), and mixed or combined (inflammatory + degenerative dystrophic) involvements of the spine in psoriasis.

Adult

[X-ray semeiotics of cranial involvement in endocrine diseases].

The incidence and type of x-ray semeiotics of the skull involvement were studied in 703 patients with endocrine diseases (26 with acromegaly, 36 with hypercorticism, 104 with thyrotoxicosis, 23 with hypothyrosis, 98 with primary hyperparathyrosis, 302 with diabetes mellitus, 114 with hypogonadism). Craniogram analysis involved study of the thickness and structure of the vault bones, shape and size of the skull, status of the sutures, internal plate relief, changes of the base of the skull, of the sella turcica first of all, and facial bones. The characteristic x-ray symptom complexes of the involvement of the skull in some endocrine diseases were distinguished.

Adult

[Radiodiagnosis of diseases of the genital system in girls].

Based on a study of an x-ray picture of the small pelvis, cranium and bone system in 400 girls aged 10-18, the results of the use of various roentgeno-radiological methods were analyzed, their diagnostic value was shown, and the data were compared with those of ultrasound investigation.

Adolescent

[X-ray diagnosis of neurogenic osteoarthropathies].

The paper is concerned with roentgenoanatomical analysis of the osteoarticular system in 607 patients with syringomyelia (21), tabes dorsalis (42), diabetes mellitus (324), psoriasis (187) and traumatic injuries of the spine and spinal marrow (33). In 58 patients tabetic (18), syringomyelitic (12), diabetic (18), psoriatic (9) and traumatic (1) osteoarthropathy was diagnosed. A study of the x-ray picture of osteoarthropathy revealed 2 types of disease: either with the prevalence of osteolytic or proliferative changes. The x-ray picture of osteoarthropathy was presented. The features of tabetic, syringomyelitic, diabetic and psoriatic arthropathies were described.
