[Naevus sebaceus Jadassohn and syringocystadenoma papilliferum. Epithelial hamartoma of the skin].

Harmartomas are tumor-like local deformations of tissue-parts. Thus tumors of epidermal appendages must be classified in this sense. Until now these deformations were also called "organoid nevus". In the present paper we report studies on the nevus sebaceus of Jadassohn and the syringocystadenoma papilliferum, especially with regard to the coincidence with other dermoepidermal changes. From 1955 to 1979 a total of 164 histological specimens were diagnosed as nevus sebaceus Jadassohn (NSJ) or syringocystadenoma papilliferum (SCAP) in the department of dermatology, University Hospital Hamburg. 134 were NSJ, 11 were SCAP and 19 were combinations of both tumors. The percentage of multiple deformations of all 164 organoid nevi were 24.

Adenoma, Sweat Gland↗

[Malignant histiocytoma].

In a 19 year old woman, suffering from an malignant histiocytoma of the upper lip, X-ray treatment was favored above a mutilating operation. Within 26 months no relapse occurred.

Adult↗

[Granuloma anulare giganteum].

A 75 year old patient had atypical granulomata annularia in several regions of his body. Besides he presented a poorly controlled diabetes mellitus. Morphologically it was difficult to classify the disease. Clinically cutaneous lymphoma were considered.

[Morphological studies of leukocyte long-term culture. 1. A new in vitro phenomenon in the diagnosis of discoid lupus erythematosus].

A new routine-method is presented for the morphokinetic documentation of autoimmunologically induced processes in vitro via leukocyte long-term culture (LLC). The prominent rosette-sheeped autologous lymphocytes in deposition at central granulocytes are well defined. These autologous rosette-formations in LLC rank very high in diagnosis of autoimmundiseases, since this phenomenon is positive already, while the results of current methods in routine-serumexaminations are still negative. Presenting a case of discoid Lupus Erythematodes this well developed method is represented in early recognition of dermatological autoimmundiseases, while cellular cinetics are discussed.

[Multiple basaloma and meningioma following long-term arsenic therapy].

A case of multiple basal-cell carcinomas and a meningioma after long-term arsenic ingestion is reported. A relationship between arsenic intake and basal-cell carcinomas is well known, whereas a meningioma associated with arsenic therapy has not been reported yet. Results of experimental tumor research could suggest a connection between arsenic intake and the development of a meningioma.

[Clear-cell hidradenoma of an unusual location].

A case of clear cell hidradenoma, which develops from the eccrine glands of the skin, is reported. Specially the histological characteristics, the histogenesis and the unusual localisation of this tumor are described.

[Disseminated piloleiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas of the skin].

Two cases of smooth muscle cell tumors of the skin are reported: a 39 year old female patient with disseminated piloleiomyomas on her left leg, and a 53 year old male patient with a leiomyosarcoma on his right shoulder. The clinical features and specially the typical histolocigal characteristics are shown.

[Normolipemic xanthomatoses. a case of xanthoma disseminatum (author's transl)].

A short summary of normolipemic xanthomatoses is exposed. A case of xanthoma disseminatum is reported. The typical clinical picture is described and numerous investigations are recorded. No association with any systemic disorder neither diabetes insipidus nor rheumatoid arthritis could be found. Histologically the granulomas consist of many multinuclear giant cells embedded in an infiltration of histiocytic cells and lymphocytes. Fat staining demonstrates lipid accumulation as a secondary phenomenon. Systemic corticosteroid therapy was effective in preventing the regrowth of the granulomas after their surgical removal.

[Feulgencytophotometric DNA distribution patterns of well-differentiated (mature) and undifferentiated (less mature/immature) forms of primary skin-reticulosis].

33 tissue sections of cases of primary skin-reticulosis showing different degrees of maturity were analysed by means of Feulgen-cytophotometric methods in regard to their DNA-content. The measurements performed disclosed cytophotometric differences of DNA distribution patterns between mature and less mature/immature forms: Mature forms of reticulosis were characterized by predominantly diploid DNA distribution patterns, whereas less mature/immature forms showed a main distribution in the hyperdiploid-hypotetraploid range respectively atypically dispersed aneuploid values with increase of variation and mean DNA-content. Moreover in several cases distribution patterns were seen, which may be regarded as cytophotometric transition forms showing a diploid peak and a higher rate of cells with enhanced DNA-content. Those cases appeared histomorphologically mature with a slight tendency to immaturity.

[Histochemical investigations in scleroderma (author's transl)].

The behavior of proteoglycanes was examined by histochemical methods in excised particles of skin from patients with progressive (n = 24) and circumscribed (n = 74) scleroderma. A method described by Ishikawa was principally used. An increase of the proteoglycanes was shown preferentially in the vascular and perivascular regions in progressive scleroderma and in the interfibrous space of the connective tissue in circumscribed scleroderma. While the vascular sclerosis is prominent from the clinical point of view in progressive scleroderma, the disease processes are found in collagen connective tissue of the corium in morphea.
