[Experience with the internal splinting method (endoprosthesis) (author's transl)].
We have used internal splints for 20 years; the endoprosthesis creates an internal urinary diversion of dilatated kidneys due to incurable gynecological, prostatic and bladder cancer. Also in pyeloplasties, difficult stone operations and retroperitoneal fibrosis the pyelovesical splinting method is useful. Scanning electron microscopic research shows that incrustations are rare and even not existing if siliconised polyvinylchlorid (PVC) splints are used. The so called "pig-tail"-splint (double-JTM-ureteral stent) is of pure silicone material and therefore well fit for therapy even over a longer period.
[Carcinoma of the pancreas presenting with urological symptoms. Report of two cases (author's transl)].
Description of two cases of pancreatic cancer with first symptoms in the urological field. A report is given about symptoms and progress in these two cases. Suggestions for treatment are made.
[Pulmonary oedema following surgical removal of a phaeochromocytoma (author's transl)].
A case of pulmonary oedema after anaesthesia for a chromaffinoma is reported. The advantages and disadvantages of various anaesthetic methods are discussed and suggestions are made for the prevention and treatment of likely complications.
[Iatrogenic secondary retroperitoneal fibrosis (secondary Ormond disease) caused by contrast medium enema, and the treatment of the resulting hydronephrosis with endourethral splinting ("endoprosthesis")].
A case of secondary retroperitoneal fibrosis with bilateral hydronephrosis, following a barium enema is presented. The mechanism of perforation and the ways of perforation are being discussed. The importance of early surgical intervention is stressed. For treatment of the hydronephrosis an endoureterine splinting was indicated.
[A case of juvenile priapism (author's transl)].
A case of juvenile priapism is presented following cortisone and penicillin treatment for a traumatic lesion of the oesophagus. Increased coagulability from such treatment is discussed as causative factor. The importance of early surgical intervention is stressed and the methods of choice presented.
[Complete subpelvine rupture of ureter as the only sequela of a trauma (case report and references) (author's transl)].
A complete subpelvine rupture of the right ureter of a nine year old girl is presented. After a short review of literature, the mechanism of the trauma and the resulting facts of this rare injury are being discussed. The excretion urography is the most important part of diagnosis. With early detection of the lesion, a restoration by different operative procedures is possible.
