[Effect of emotional stress on the system of hemostasis in patients with coronary arteriosclerosis].

Under conditions of experimentally induced psychic stress, the changes were studied in the activity of the sympatheticoadrenal system and the thrombocytic-vascular and the plasmic links of the hemostatic system. Ninety-seven men aged 35-61 years and suffering from coronary heart disease without hypertension and circulation insufficiency were studied. The diagnosis of coronary atherosclerosis was confirmed by selestive coronary angiography. Hypercatecholaminemia and a hypercoagulatory state were elicited prior to the investigation. According to the adaptive-protective activation of the anticoagulation system, in particular heparin activation, the patients were divided into two groups: a favourable one, characterized by the adequate protective activation of the anticlotting system, and an unfavourable one, characterized by the depression of the anticoagulation system and the depletion of the sympatheticoadrenal system.

[Vascular-platelet link in the hemostatic system of diabetics].

Activation of the vascular-platelet link of the hemostasis system: an increase in platelet ADP-induced aggregation, the appearance of platelet aggregates in the vascular bed, an increase in the patients' plasma of beta-thromboglobulin concentration, thrombocytic factor 4, a decrease in antiaggregation activity of the vascular wall and sensitifity of patients' platelets to antiaggregation action of acetylsalicylic acid, was found in diabetes mellitus patients. In the authors' opinion, the above changes play a role in disorders of the microcirculation of the organs and tissues and development of complications in these patients.

[Inhibitory action of adrenaline on the antiaggregation activity of the arterial wall].

It has been shown in experiments on Wistar rats that adrenaline inhibits both in vitro and in vivo the capacity of the arterial wall for synthesizing an antiaggregating substance (prostacycline). It is suggested that adrenaline takes a direct part in body thrombogenesis during emotional stress and in conditions associated with the increased catecholamine output in the blood.

[Effect of acetylsalicyclic and nicotinic acids and complamin on the formation of a prostacyclin-like substance by the aortic wall].

Experiments on Wistar rats have shown that single oral administration of acetylsalicylic (300 mg/kg), nicotinic (3 mg/kg) acids and complamin (2 mg/kg) inhibits platelet aggregation. It has been established that acetylsalicylic acid inhibits, as an antiaggregation agent, platelet aggregation and synthesis of a prostacycline-like substance by the aortal wall, and decreases its antiaggregation activity. Nicotinic acid and complamin inhibit platelet aggregation but do not lower antiaggregation activity of the aortal wall. Therefore, these latter drugs compare very favorably with acetylsalicylic acid as antiaggregation agents.
