[A case of pathomimesis].

Pathomimesis (skin artefacts, Munchausen syndrome, artificial dermatitis, etc.) is an artificial deficiency of the skin and it is referred to a group of psychosomatic disorders, evidencing affective and in some cases paranoiac delirium disturbances. A case of this condition is described.

Adult

[Effect of microfields of magnetically aligned media on Treponema pallidum. 1].

An end ferromagnetic masking of T. pallidum has been revealed; this phenomenon appears to help the bacterium orientation in human body under the effects of both the external electromagnetic fields and the internal sources of such fields in the body. The studies have demonstrated the primary physicochemical mechanism of the magnetic field action of T. pallidum--human body biological system. A magnetically regulated medium (MRM) is a tool altering the characteristics of the biological material and revealing the new properties of the pathogenic bacterium. This latter fact promotes search for new approaches to the suppression of T. pallidum and, probably, other pathogens' infectious activities. Immediate degradation of T. pallidum in thin MRM suggests a possibility of creating potent antibacterial coating for working elements of medical instruments.

Cell Movement

[The effect of magnetoregulated microfields on Treponema pallidum. 2].

The authors proceed with their studies of magnetic microfields detected round T. pallidum and of the interactions of these fields with the biologic objects round the treponemas; these studies will prompt approaches to physiotherapeutic management of infectious diseases, making use of a new (for medicine) source of physical fields. They have revealed that T. pallidum fluorescence intensity and the width of the 'fan' of T. pallidum on the domain structures of ferrite/garnet films indicates the degree of T. pallidum pathogeneity.

Luminescent Measurements

[The effect of micro-fields of magnetically ordered media on Treponema pallidum].

A new phenomenon has been revealed: deactivation of pathogenic T. pallidum under the effect of intensified static magnetic field of film domain structures. The mechanism of action of an artificial magneto-regulated environment on T. pallidum, rabbit spermatozoa and red cells has been discovered; T. pallidum organelles magnetotropism scale has been defined, as well as the magnetic sensitivity of rabbit spermatozoa heads and red cells.

Animals

[Electron microscope study of the plasmid DNA from various strains of Treponema pallidum].

Electron microscopic investigation and electrophoretic analysis of DNA from two cultural strains of pale treponemes (Treponema pallidum VIII and Treponema pallidum Reiter) allowed us to identify the circular molecules of plasmid DNA their size evaluated as 7 to 8 MD. Side by side with the molecules of this size the electron microscopic pictures of the plasmid DNA of both strains of pale treponemes show small superspiralized molecules of plasmid DNA. According to electrophoretic data the size of this DNA is evaluated as two thousand base pairs.
