The authors described general clinical signs and pathology in eye examination in three patients with Terson syndrome. From this group only one patient recovered. In this case the early eye fundus examination allowed doctors to make the proper diagnosis and led to neurosurgical intervention, just in time.
The paper presents information about types of acuity tasks, visual acuity limitations and contrast sensitivity function. Measurements of resolution acuity may be interpreted as estimates of spatial density of the mosaic of photoreceptors and ganglion cells of the living human eye. Physiological basis such as Raleigh's criteria, sampling theory and filtering theory of visual resolution are described.
In this work the symptoms of allergic diseases of the eye were shortly described. The role of mast cells, eosinophils and lymphocytes taking part in allergic reaction was presented. The cellular mechanisms which lead to symptoms of allergic diseases of the eye were discussed. Histopathological changes in the eye tissues and their clinical importance were taken into consideration. The analysis of allergic symptoms of the eye on the basis of the knowledge of pathophysiological processes gives important information both for ophthalmologists and allergologists.
In this paper authors described methods of surgery in involutional ectropion, surgical anatomy and changes in the lower eyelid due to aging. The surgical treatment of advanced involutional ectropion and its results is presented.
Embryogenesis of the eye was presented and definite time of arising congenital anomalies of the optic disc, which characterized abnormal diameter disc, was determined on its background. As well genes, which control development of the optic disc were detailed.
Embryological conditions, each of fifth congenital anomalies of the optic disc from the group of anomalies of inappropriate optic diameter was described. Few available epidemiological data were given. The influence of medications, drugs, intoxications, as well as premature birth on genesis of congenital anomalies was taken into consideration. Malformation of central nervous system was introduced together with clinical syndromes related to congenital anomalies of the optic disc indicating the genetic condition.
