[Dynamics of physical development of Chuvash rural school children (1884-1999)].

Analysis of the statistic indices height and body weight in schoolchildren has demonstrated their positive changes in all age and sex groups for 115 years. The maximum height and body weight increases are observed in the time intervals 1962-1966, 1966-1982 which show statistically significant increases in the indices in virtually age-sex groups. In the past 15 years height increases have preserved; however, their increase rate has decreased; there is a negative trend for body weight to change, which is more pronounced in girls. The findings suggest that there is a tendency for developmental acceleration to be stabilized, which are not contradictory to the global epochal processes of growth and development. The changes in body weight may be regarded as negative, which is caused by present socioeconomic problems in our country. Physical development monitoring in children and adolescents permits development and implementation of regional and federal programmes for health promotion to ensure the population's sanitary well-being.

[Testing method for analyzing indicators of health for residents in microterritories of cities in a system of social-hygienic monitoring].

The methods for integral assessments of human health indices were tested at different territorial units within the framework of development of sociohygienic monitoring. A microterritory as an information unit is proposed as the most adequate object of observation. The method of integral health indices is recommended for their assessment at the level of microterritories, integral entropy should be used for mapping an urban dwelling area.

[Random medical check-ups as an instrument of evaluation of the health status of children and teenagers].

Analyzed in the paper are the 20-year dynamic changes of widespread chronic diseases and morphofunctional anomalies (MPO) observed in the health condition of schoolchildren at comprehensive medical check-ups. If MPO are predominant in the morbidity structure of schoolchildren, the chronic pathology is more intensive: it aggravates reaching its uttermost point by the age of senior pupils. On the basis of the obtained data the authors formulate the necessity in elaborating a variety of organizational and therapeutic-preventive measures for the treatment, prevention and follow-up of schoolchildren with MPO and pronounced chronic pathologies. It is also suggested to revise the norms and workloads for practitioners at pediatric patient-care facilities, which, according to the authors, should be made with respect to the frequency rate and structure of a detected pathology.

[Regeneration of cybrid Lycopersicon peruvianum x (Solanum rickii) plants with genetically transformed chloroplasts].

The hybrid plants with transformed plastids were regenerated after PEG fusion of chlorophyll-deficient Lycopersicon peruvianum leaf mesophyll protoplasts and leaf mesophyll protoplasts of Solanum rickii, which were previously genetically transformed and as the result were resistant to streptomycine and spectinomycine. The hybrid callus selection was based on the inability of the Lycopersicon peruvianum minicalli to have the green coloration and on the inability of gamma-preirradiated Solanum rickii protoplasts to divide. The hybrids were identified on the base of PCR analyses of nuclear and plastid DNA.

[Stable transformation of Solanum rickii chloroplast DNA].

The biolistic method was used for genetic transformation of Solanum rickii chloroplasts with aadA gene encoding resistance to streptomycine and spectinomycine. Selective pressure was applied immediately after microbombardment to avoid appearance of mutant lines. The transplastomic Solanum rickii plants remained green during two years cultivation on the media supplemented with two antibiotics. There were no morphological differences between the transformed and the wild type plants.

[Assessment of conformation changes of immunoglobulin G molecules using a fluorescent probe].

A proximate method for conformational changes detection in immunoglobulin G preparations used in research and medical practice is introduced. This method is based on the measurement of IgG-connected 1,8-anilinenaphtalenesulphonate fluorescent probe (ANS) time of damping. When the protein structure is broken fluorescence damping time of IgG-connected ANS rises up.
