[Effect of gestagen therapy on clinical and biochemical parameters in patients with atypical endometrial hyperplasia].

The investigation involved 22 reproductive and menopausal women (aged 30-48) with atypical endometrial hyperplasia. In addition to general clinical examination, all the patients underwent ultrasound scanning of the organs of the small pelvis, hysteroscopy and diagnostic curettage for morphological examination both before and after treatment. All tissue samples taken before and after treatment were assayed for cytoplasmic and plasma-membrane receptor levels and a number of biochemical parameters of plasma membranes. Hormone therapy with prolonged-release gestagen-based drugs pointed to changes which occurred in: (1) sex steroid reception at cytosol and plasma-membrane levels; (2) the lipids profile of plasma membranes, and (3) activity of membrane-related enzymes. Among the beneficial results of gestagen treatment was coming most of lipid profile parameters and plasma-membrane enzymes back to normal. However, a decrease in the progesterone reception level in target tissue after 3-6 month treatment may suggest a likelihood of development of tolerance to gestagen. The data also suggest that further research continue in this area of endometrial precancer.

[Development of a provisional information-retrieval descriptor language for "Roentgenology and Medical Radiology" for use in the Medinform system].

A problem information retrieval thesaurus consisting of descriptor and nondescriptor articles in alphabetic order was developed. It was conformed to and conjugated with the thesaurus in the field. Examples of descriptor and nondescriptor articles of the revised problem thesaurus were cited. The entire medical roentgenoradiology in the thesaurus in the field was represented by 20 descriptors. The problem thesaurus comprised approximately 1000 descriptors. The authors emphasized the role of the information retrieval thesaurus in which descriptors were renewed from an array of quasidescriptors every 3-5 yrs. The problem thesaurus is an element of the information retrieval language of the Medinform system intended for information support of specialists in roentgenoradiology.

[Improving the retrieval of information from scientific research works in the field of medical roentgenoradiology].

A subject thesaurus covering investigations pursued at the Moscow Research Institute of Roentgenoradiology (Ministry of Health of the RSFSR) has been worked out for data retrieval. Each subject heading is provided with indices of the International Classification of Inventions (MCI), national classifications of inventions (NCI), Universal Digital Classification (UDC), Branch Automated System of Scientific Medical Information (BASSMI), Medinform, and the State Automated System of Scientific-Technical Information (SASSTI). The subject thesaurus is necessary for the detection of relevant information in the BASSMI and Medinform data banks and in patent forms.
