A total of 70 and 38 patients with diabetes mellitus were investigated to compare the diagnostic significance of radio-isotope renography (RRG) with 131I-hippuran and a radioimmunoassay with beta 2-microglobulin (beta 2-MG) in renal involvement. The first method was shown to be less informative than the beta 2-MG test: at the 1st (prenephrotic) stage of diabetic nephroangiopathy the detectability of glomerular disturbances with the beta 2-MG test was a 2-fold higher and was still growing in the presence of proteinuria. In progressive stages (II and III) of diabetic nephroangiopathy the detectability of glomerular disturbances rose almost twice using both methods but a tendency to the use of the second one was preserved. Dysfunction of the proximal tubules of the kidney was noted only in the patients with progressive diabetic nephroangiography using both methods equally.
The most informative diagnostic criteria of autoimmune thyroiditis were revealed. A kit of diagnostic tests were offered for each version of autoimmune thyroiditis. The lowest percentage of antibodies against thyroglobulin was demonstrated for the hyperthyroid hypertrophic version of autoimmune thyroiditis, while the highest for its atrophic pattern. Biopsy of the thyroid was found to be the most informative test for autoimmune thyroiditis, provided the result was positive. If the result of puncture biopsy is negative, it is desirable to apply a complex of tests depending on thyroid function and size.
Determination of the indices of central hemodynamics by means of radiocardiography shows them to be essentially changed in patients with acromegaly in the active stage. A clear correlative relationship has been established between the shifts in hemodynamics and the heart volume determined by X-ray. The diagnosis of preclinical stage of circulatory insufficiency is based on revealing a statistically significant increase in the stroke index and a decrease in the circulation volume and total peripheral resistance. In the early stage of acromegaly there is a statistically significant increase in the minute and stroke indices, in the index of minute work, and in the coefficient of circulation effectiveness. With an increase in the duration of the disease, these indices decrease considerably, which denotes hemodynamics deterioration.
Investigation of the genetic determination of hemodynamic indices (the volume of circulating blood, the time of total blood circuit, the rate of lesser blood flow and the minute heart volume) is carried out in 16 mono- and 15 dizygotic twin pairs. The volume of circulating blood only was found to be highly genetically determined (G = 0.90). The role of heredity and environment was almost the same in genesis of the time of total blood circuit and the rate of lesser blood flow (G = 0.34 and 0.48 respectively), while the effect of environment is prevailed for the minute heart volume. The coefficient of genetic determination G is considered to be the most competent estimate among other indices of heredity, because it makes possible to isolate the additive variance and the variance of determing genetic component of phenotypical dispersion of a character. On the basis of the parameters studied, a multifactorial character of hemodynamics indices inheritance is suggested.

The determination of the value of the threshold physical exercise and of the central haemodynamic indices by means of radiocardiography permitted to prove the existence of a preclinical stage of circulatory insufficiency in patients with mitral valve disease. As early as at this stage the cardiac output is reduced at rest and the period of pulmonary circulation and filling of the left heart is increased. Under physical exercises the level of the threshold tolerance is decreased. Under such conditions the pre-clinical and Stage I of circulatory insufficiency can be easier differentiated by the direction of the haemodynamic changes.
