[The effect of waxes from essential-oil plants on the dehydrogenase activity of the blood neutrophils in mucosal trauma of the mouth].

The author has demonstrated the effects of sage wax and a mixture of sage, rose, and lavender was on the peripheral blood neutrophil succinate and lactate dehydrogenase activities in injuries to the buccal mucosa on days 3, 7, and 30 of the experiment. Cytochemical analysis has confirmed a manifest antiinflammatory effect of a mixture of sage, rose, and lavender wax in such injuries.

[The results of sanitary chemical research into denture base materials coated with components from essential-oil plants].

Examinations of the basic material for removable dentures, coated with rose, lavender, sage wax evidence that such coating essentially reduces residual methylmetacrylate migration and its side effect on the denture bed tissues, and improves the hygienic characteristics of dentures. Modification of the basic material by introducing Sklariol into the polymer considerably reduces the residual monomer migration. These results recommend coating of essential-oil plant wax for the prevention of denture bed tissue inflammations.

[Blood coagulation evaluation of the biocompatibility of dental plastics].

Using thromboelastography the authors have studied the effect of fluorax and ethacryl manufactured by compaction and centrifugal moulding on the coagulation properties of patients. An analysis of the mechanism of the plastic surface and monomer effects on the blood coagulation phases and platelets allow the authors to conclude that the considered stomatological materials are biocompatible and that centrifugal moulding is superior to compaction.
