[Effect of kininogen on the activity of human blood serum kininogenase system].

The inhibitory effect of kininogen (especially its high molecular form) on kallikrein esterase activity and on the process of kallikreinogen auto-activation is demonstrated. Kallikreinogen and kininogen from human blood serum partially purified on QAE-Sephadex. CM-Sephadex and G-200 Sephadex were used in experiments.

[Clincio-electroencephalographic syndromes in several diseases of the nervous system].

An analysis of the indices of bioelectrical brain activity and clinical symptoms was accomplished by a computer according to the principle "man-machine". The authors examined 2 groups of patients with some hereditary forms of diseases of the nervous system (62 cases) and with disorders of cerebral circulation (106 cases). It was demonstrated that there is a possibility of clarifying the typical localization of lesion and of differentiating the different clinico EEG syndromes.

[Reflex interaction between the visual and skin temperature analyzers in focal lesions at the level of the optic thalamus and brain stem].

The authors convened a clinico-physiological study of the interaction of the visual and skin temperature analyzers in patients with disturbed circulation in the deep branches of the posterior cerebral artery (the first group) and in patients with disturbed circulation in the vertebro-basillar system (the second group). Inasmuch as in the first group there was an involvement of thalamic structures, the significant disorders connected with disturbances of reflectory interaction in the visual and skin-temperature analyzers are presumably related to these structures. An insignificant change in the continuing of the visual and skin temperature analyzers in disturbances of the brain stem indicate to the limited importance of nonspecific structures of this area in the reflectory interaction of these analyzers.

[Changes in the parameter of asymmetry of EEG wave fronts in patients with cerebral circulatory disorders treated with instenon].

The distribution of the parameter of asymmetry of the wave fronts in EEG on the convexital surface of the cortex during instenon administration is significantly changed in time and becomes normal after 3 hours of observation. This may point to an improvement of the functional state of the brain under the influence of the drug. The most distinct positive dynamics in such conditions were marked in patients with general brain symptoms and transient disorders in the vertebro-basillar system. A transition of desynchronized EEG to hypersynchronized with a subsequent normalization of the structure is apparently conditioned by the central influence of the preparation on the synchronizing areas of the brain reticular formation.

[The oribates (Oribatei) in the feathers of birds].

The authors confirm the fact of disperiosn of oribate mites by birds, that was earlier noticed in acarological references. More than 400 individuals of 53 virds species belonging to different ecological groups have been examined. About 50 species alive oribates were collected in bird feathers: Liochthonius sellnicki, Brachychthonius sp., Hypochthonius rufulus, Nothrus palustris, Malaconothrus egregius, Camisia segnis, Camisia sp., Hermanniella granulata, Trhypochthonius tectorum, Oribatula tibialis, Zigoribatula exilis, Scheloribates laevigatus, Sch. latipes, Suctobelba trigona, Suctobelbella sp., Fosseremaeus laciniatus, Tectocepheus velatus, T. knullei, Nanhermannia coronata, Achpteria coleoptrata, Parachipteria punctata, Damaeus riparius, Eremaeus oblongus, Diapterobates notatus, D. humeralis, Carabodes areolatus, C. marginatus, Sphaerozetes tricuspidatus, Ceratozetes parvulus, C. cisalpinus, Mycobates sp., Punctoribates punctum, Trichoribates trimaculatus, Galumna sp., Oribella paoli, Chamobates laciniatus, Neoribates roubali, Neoliodes farinosus, Oppiella nova, O. unicarinata, O. fallax, Oppia ornata, Steganacarus striculum, Steganacarus applicatus, Tropacarus carinatus, Protoribates capucinus, Scutovertex minutus, Autognetha willmanni, A. longilamellata, Belba sp., Metabelba pulverulenta, Gustavia microcephala, Fuscozetes fuscipes [symbol: see text] Pergalumna nervosa. Carabodes marginatus were met most often, on 8 species of birds, Tectocepheus velatus, on 12 species, Oppiella unicarinata--at 7 species. Some oribate species constantly occur in bird feathers.

[A comparative study of the isocitrate dehydrogenases of Chlorobium limicola forma Chlorobium thiosulfatophilum and Rhodopseudomonas palustris].

The carboxylation of 2-oxoglutarate in the reductive tricarboxylic acid cycle in the obligate photolithotroph Chlorobium limicola forma thiosulfatophilum and the oxidation of isocitrate in the tricarboxylic acid cycle in the photoheterotroph Rhodopseudomonas palustris are catalyzed by isocitrate dehydrogenases. A comparative study of these enzymes isolated from the two bacteria showed that they virtually do not differ in the enzymatic and kinetic properties.
