[The efficiency of the action of a pulsed magnetic field on the neuromuscular apparatus].

The effect of pulsing magnetic field on the rabbit neuromuscular system was compared with the effect of direct electrical stimulation. The electrophysiological data demonstrated slight difference between myograms after magneto- and electrostimulation. Magnetostimulation was shown to have an advantage in the myogram estimation and contactless action.

[Effect of microwaves on the spike activity of cerebellar Purkinje cells in the cat].

In acute experiments on adult anesthetized cats, the reaction of identified cerebellar Purkinje cells to local exposure to the decimetric micro-waves (80, 400, 1200 mWt/cm2) involved a change of the firing rate, shortening of the inhibitory pause of the Purkinje cells, increasing in the frequency first of simple and then of complex spikes and, finally, appearance of bursts of impulse activity of the Purkinje cells.

[The action of a pulsed magnetic field on the electrical resistance of the skin].

The skin of 32 rabbits and 10 patients (7 males and 3 females aged 32-48) was exposed to impulse magnetic field (IMF) with intensity of 1.0-1.5 T and frequency of 45 paired impulses a minute. The 5-minute exposure resulted in a 50% decrease in the skin electrical resistance both in patients and animals. On aftertreatment minute 2 the resistance started recovering and returned to the baseline on minute 6 in animals and 4 in patients. Changes in electrical resistance of the skin are attributed to emergence of IMF-related electrical induction.

[The action of an impulse magnetic field on the motor function recovery of the peripheral nerve trunks].

The cut sciatic nerve trunk was sutured perineurally to study in chronic rabbit experiments of the neuromuscular functional recovery upon the exposure to impulse magnetic field with the intensity 1.2 T. Nonexposed animals served control. Myographic activity of reinnervated crural muscles in the irradiated animals recovered two times more rapidly compared to the controls, so did motor function of the limb operated on. It is inferred that impulse magnetic field produces therapeutic and preventive effect on neurodystrophy resultant from the nerve dissection.

[The correction of disorders in the exocrine function of the liver by using sapropel lipids in tetrachloromethane poisoning (experimental research)].

Reparative and bioregulatory properties of total lipids extracted from sapropel were studied in experimental chemical toxic hepatitis. The extract exhibited a combined antioxidant and bioregulatory effect on hepatic lesions. This finding permitted the total lipid sapropel extract to be suggested as a bioactive corrector of chemical hepatic intoxication.
