[The value of biochemical indices of the blood in early diagnosis of gastric cancer].

The results of biochemical blood analysis in 75 patients with I-II stage gastric cancer have been analysed. The control group was comprised of 210 patients with gastritis, callous ulcer and polyps of the stomach. By means of a correlation-regression analysis, the non-linear relations between I-II stage gastric cancer and biochemical indices of the blood were revealed. The highly significant indices for diagnosis of the disease in mass examination of the population have been developed.

[Late monitoring for predicting of the outcome of the treatment of gastric cancer].

The results of late monitoring of 114 patients with III stage gastric cancer who survived 10 years and longer after the radical operation performance are presented. Forty patients who developed recurrence and generalization of tumorous process within the first 5 years after the operation entered the control group. All the patients died. The quantitative and qualitative prognostic factors were established. On the basis of the data of blood analysis, a reliable prognostic index has been developed.

[Expert systems in oncology: concepts, problems, perspectives].

The architecture and fields of application of the expert systems in oncology are described. These systems allow systematization, developing and realizing the approximate knowledge, heuristics and algorithms of the expert-oncologists by the computer systems for solution of optimization problems of diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. Principles of the functioning of expert systems are considered through the examples of solutions of concrete problems in oncology. Intellectual possibilities of the man-machine interaction under clinical conditions are discussed. The vistas of technological development of expert systems in oncology are evaluated.

[Early and long-term results of the combined treatment of patients with gastric cancer submitted to cryosurgery].

The results of combined treatment of 28 patients with gastric cancer, using cryosurgery (cryodestruction and subtotal gastric resection), were analysed. In 36 patients of the control group, the subtotal resection alone was performed. In cryodestruction of a tumor, intraoperative dissemination of tumor cells significantly reduced, which was in negative correlation with the five-year survival of the patients. In the experimental group, the five-year survival was 80% in stage II, 47.8%--in stage III, and in the control group--40 and 22.6%, respectively.

[Biometric modeling in the optimization of the treatment of patients with gastric cancer].

Biometric modelling of gastric cancer, its specific and non-specific complications was accomplished on the "ES-1033" computer according to the developed programme with the use of algorithm of multifactor correlative analysis. Studied were 916 parameters in 574 patients. The long-term results of treatment were traced in 256 patients, who were operated on radically.
