[Prolonged action of tuftsin in penicillin epilepsy].

The free behaviour experiments on rats showed during the first day the tuftsin-induced (0.3 mg/kg i. p.) increment of epileptic discharge in all the structures simultaneously. Open field behaviour depended on the sequence of penicillin and tuftsin injections. The rats with tuftsin used after the epileptiformic activity has been developed showed the behaviour analogical to the penicillin-injected animals. The preventive injections of tuftsin resulted in restoration of all behavioural indications by the third day. The optimal corrective effect has been obtained with tuftsin used preventively.

Animals

[Effects of delta sleep-inducing peptide on the intercentral integration during experimental epilepsy].

In free behavior experiments on cats it has been shown, that the intraperitoneal injection of delta-sleep-inducing peptide (100 mg/kg) may change organization of the pathology integration-epileptic discharges did not spread all the structures simultaneously. The slow-waves were registered in central medium of the thalamus and nucl. caudati. The epileptic discharges were registered first in visual and auditory cortex, hippocampus. After that they were observed in the motor cortex, nucl. caudati and centrum medianum of the thalamus.

Systemic analysis of anticipating reactions.

A capacity for anticipating reactions realizes itself in the course of systemic activity formation, events. There is no doubt that probability of prediction proves to be possible on the basis of formation in brain structures of certain systems of anticipating excitations. Dynamics of EP analogues is an objective criterion of evaluation of the anticipating reaction central mechanisms. The term "EP analogue" conveys the phenomenon of reproduction of the EP configurations in intersignal spans. On the basis of analysis of EP analogue dynamics, we succeeded in following the process of brain structure organization into the anticipating intercentral integrations and also in elucidating the role that different afferentation redistributions play in this process by their functional significance.

[The effect of neurotropic agents on evoked potentials of the association and projection regions of the cat neocortex].

Intensive non-specific inactivation of the cortex by means of its local cooling, in the cat anasthetized with nembutal, blocks in a similar way the early component of associative responses (ECAR) in the parietal area and the primary responses (PR) in the projection areas. In the case of local application of neurotropic drugs possessing specific and differentiated action on postsynaptic activity, the same ECAR changes require a somewhat higher concentration of the reagents as compared with the concentration that produces a similar PR transformation. The higher threshold of chemical sensitivity in ECAR than in the PR depends on the characteristics of the morpho-functional organization of the cortical formations. Dissimilar reactivity of the direct cortical response and of ECAR of the parietal area to the action of chemical drugs is related to the peculiarities of intracortical origin of these potentials which are due to the dissimilar nature of their generation in response to a direct and to a peripheral stimulation.

[Brain structure as a basis for its reliability].

The construction and activity of the brain are characterized by high degree of the reliability. Some structural-functional premises of the reliability have been described: 1) the superfluity of the nervous elements of many brain structures, which guarantees the brain reserve properties in norm and in different forms of pathology: 2) growth in the mammals row the factors of the superfluity and plasticity of the macro- and microlevels of new evolutionally cerebral systems organization; 3) the multifunctionality peculiar to diverse brain systems different degree. The study of neurochemical bases of reliability in norm and pathological conditions has now a special meaning (by stimulation of corresponding natural transmitter brain systems). The measure of reliability, its "reverse side", is the idea of the brain vulnerability. Some indices of the vulnerability increase in comparative animal row to the man, especially in the sensory and vegetative spheres.

Animals

[Neuromediator mechanisms of wakefulness and the voluntary behavior of cats].

Properties were studied of neurotransmitter provision of mechanisms of voluntary food-procuring behavior in cats. It has been shown that functional significance of monoamino- and cholinergic brain structures in these mechanisms are greatly determined by their participation in the control of the alertness level, the raising of which is necessary for solving complicated tasks and mastering new motor habits by animals.

Animals

[Effect of destruction of the frontal and parietal regions of the neocortex on the ability of dogs to solve extrapolation problems].

Parietoectomized dogs (n = 8), like intact ones (n = 102), are able to extrapolate the direction of the movement of an alimentary stimulus when presented with a complex task variant. In this they differ from animals with a prefrontal lobectomy (n = 10) in which, according to the authors' previous data (1971), the ability to elementary rational activity in Krushinsky extrapolation test (1977), is impaired.
