The low incidence of these tumors compelled the AA., after diagnosis of one of laryngeal sitting, to a review of the theme and its literature as well, particularly under the viewpoint of its histogenesis, which has been debatable up to lately. The report is complemented with the study of immunohistochemical tests for NHK, S-100 and specific neural enolase of the specimen.
A case of Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) is presented, high-lighting the long-term evolution of affliction of the upper airways without diagnosis, as well as the rapid evolution after detection of the rest of the compounds of the syndrome. We show the difficulties in making a differential diagnosis and the clinical improvement with immunosuppressor treatment.

Presentation of an experimental study comparing the scarring of colic anastomoses performed in Wistar rats fed with three different types of diet: a standard laboratory diet, an enteral low-residue diet and a low-residue diet supplemented with fermentable fibre in short chain fatty acids (pectin). Scarring in the group fed with the standard laboratory diet showed greater anastomotic complications, and the microscopic appearance was more inflamed. The administration of low-residue diets reduced the level of complications, but also reduced the concentration of collagen and the parietal rupture tension. The addition of pectin to a low-residue diet maintained the complications at a low level, and also significantly increased the pressure parameters and the collagen concentration.
32 rabbits suffering from simple hereditary glaucoma were studied from the ophthalmological, otological and histopathological point of view. Gonioscopy, tonometry, ophthalmo- and retinography, otoscopy, tympanometry, ABR and the corresponding histopathological studies of the eye and of the cochlea were performed. The simple hereditary glaucoma seems to be causally related with concomitant hearing loss due to congenital endolymphatic hydrops. Further studies are planed.
Brain stem auditory evoked potentials using skin electrodes have been studied in rabbits. The obtained records are integrated by 6 consecutive waves ranging up to 10 ms. of latency time. The most important, constant and well-performed waves were the I, II and IV waves, which persist until the auditory threshold by 10 dB. The obtained results in 50 ears have been statistically treated. Subsequently, a normal pattern of the BAEP in rabbits has been performed as a base for upcoming papers.
We present a clinical and morphological study of one case of unilateral Retinoblastoma in a boy two years of age. There were no family antecedents. Cellular morphology and histological organization were studied with particular reference to rosettes and the angiogenic capacity of the tumor. Scanning electron microscopy permitted the definition of the surface organization and infiltration pattern together with tridimensional characteristics of the Rosettes. We also discuss the neuroectodermal origin of the neoplasm.
