[Monozygotic twins with a minimal cerebral dysfunction syndrome].

Two monozygotic boys, 5 years and 5 months old, with a normal IQ, whose father had suffered from stuttering, language retardation and dyslexia showed a minimal brain dysfunction syndrome. A genetic etiology is likely in these patients. Other etiological factors remain obviously possible in other patients.

Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity↗

[Alterations in two enzymes: superoxide dismutase and glutathion peroxidase in developmental infantile psychosis (infantile autism) (author's transl)].

After they gave a classification of the different circumstances under which the infantile autism can exist, the authors expose the data of their researches on the intermediate metabolism of oxygen of those children. Superoxyde dismutase I and glutathion peroxydase activities seem to be abnormal in the erythrocytes whereas only superoxyde dismutase I activity appears to be abnormal in the platelets.

[HLA groups in the infantile psychoses during development, and hypothesis for an enzyme defect].

The HLA typing (loci A and B) of a series of fifteen psychotic children has shown an increase of the frequency of both HLA-A9 and B5 antigens. These preliminary data and previous biochemical findings in psychotic patients lead the authors to postulate the hypothesis of a qualitative or quantitative anomaly of the superoxide dismutase (SOD-2), the gene of which is situated on the same chromosome (sixth) as the HLA complex.

[Transitory dyslexia related to hematoma of the left temporal lobe in a 14-year-old adolescent].

A hematoma limited to the median region of the second left temporal convolution was the factor of an involvement of written language which rapidly set in in a 14 years old adolescent. The type of disorders observed are quite superimposable on dyslexia in children. After evacuation of the hematoma, the reading disorders disappeared, as was proved by normalization of the leximetric test.

[Minimal brain dysfunction. Our investigation of choreiform syndrome in children with MBD (author's transl)].

It is the purpose of this communication to study statistical correlations between the different symptomes of MBD ; speech defect, dyslexia, hyperactivity, poor muscular control, give a school handicap for about 10 per cent of children, excluding cerebral palsy, sensorial trouble, or intellectual defect. The choreiforme syndrome is a systematic investigation in a group of 60 children selected with two symptomes of MBD. Choreiform movements are found in 48 per cent of our MBD patients (40 per cent of patients with hyperactivity and 50 per cent of patients with serious dyslexia).
