[Preparation of porous material based on alginic acid, containing immobilized terrilytin].

A comparative study was conducted on immobilization of terrilytin on alginic acid by attaching the enzyme by ionic or covalent bonds and possible use of such compounds in preparing porous coatings for wound treatment. It was shown possible to prepare a coating with the enzyme activity after radiation sterilization equal to 80-85 per cent of the initial level. Medico-biological investigations proved that the use of the coating in treatment of purulent wounds was efficient.

[Preparation of lysozyme immobilized on textile carriers and its use in treating suppurative wounds].

Immobilized forms of lysozyme were prepared by its covalent binding on dialdehyde cellulose and polycaproamide fibres as woven and knitted fabrics respectively. The preparations were estimated by the content of protein and bacteriolytic activity. The lysozyme activity per 1 g of the carrier and the protein content on dialdehyde cellulose were several times higher than those on polycaproamide while the specific activity of lysozyme on the polycaproamide carrier was somewhat higher than that on dialdehyde cellulose. The effect of the immobilized lysozyme in treatment of purulent wounds was studied on albino rats. It was shown that the periods of the wound healing with the use of the immobilized lysozyme were shorter than those with the use of native lysozyme. Cytological and morphological investigation of the wound wall confirmed the higher efficacy of the lysozyme immobilized forms in treatment of purulent wounds as compared to the use of the native enzyme.

[Comparative evaluation of the effectiveness of biologically active and regular drainage in the prevention of disorders of wound healing].

An analysis of clinical material on 35 patients with pyo-inflammatory processes in soft tissues is presented which were treated using biologically active drains. The cytological and cytochemical investigations have shown that draining properties of the biologically active drains are much better than those of the chlorvinyl and silicon drains.

[Effect of biologically active dressings of wounds on the course of the wound process].

A comparative analysis of the effectiveness and expediency of the local application of collocyl (128 patients), trypsin immobilized on textile cellulose and kapron matrix (186 patients) and gauze bandage moistened with a solution of enzymes and 10% sodium chloride was made. It was shown that collocyl as well as trypsin modified gauze and kapron accelerated cleansing the wounds of nonviable tissues, decreased their infectivity, reduced intoxication of the organism and improved the course of the wound process.

[Surgical treatment of chronic suppurative sacroiliitis].

An original method of surgical treatment of purulent sacroiliitis is described. It was used in 8 patients and reduced the period of treatment from 3-6 to 1-1.5 months. Good remote results were noted during 2-10 years of follow-up observations.
