[Spontaneous intraperitoneal rupture of asymptomatic hydronephrosis].

A 63-year-old patient had spontaneous rupture of asymptomatic hydronephrosis+ into the peritoneal cavity as result of cast renal calculus. During the operation similar changes in the right kidney were found and, in view of this, palliative operation was done with removal of concrements and sparing of both pathologically changed kidneys. After the operation the kidneys resumed their function.

[The problem of immobilization following tenosuture--an experimental study].

The course of repair of the transected and afterwards once more sutured tendines were observed at the superficial flexor tendines of the toes of the pelvis extremity in 46 adult rabbits by experimental investigations on condition of free mobility, of immobilisation with maintained muscular tension, and of immobilisation with excluded muscular tension. The macroscopic, microscopic, and mechanical control investigations showed the greatest mechanical density and the smallest connective-tissue proliferation to the environment after tenosuture by immobilisation with excluded muscular tension for 2-3 weeks and following immobilisation with maintained muscular tension up to the 6th week. The unique tenosuture without immobilisation showed minimum load capacity and heavy adhesions with the environment. The results were placed between these both groups after tenosuture by immobilisation with maintained muscular tension from the first.

[Experimental studies on the usefulness of Dexon (polyglycolic acid) and our own modified suture method for suturing after tendon severing].

The author had observed in experimental investigations the healing process that achillo-tenotomy in rabbits and a following suture with catgut or silk or DEXON. The suture after tenotomy was carried out with a circular suture of an own modification. Microscopic and macroscopic investigations showed a distinct bigger reaction of the connective tissue and more adhesions around the tenorrhaphy after catgut suture than after silk or DEXON suture. The mechanic investigations showed a clearly smaller tensile strength after a catgut suture than after silk or DEXON suture. Since DEXON sutures will completely resorb they are superior to the non-absorbable sutures.
