[Intralobar and extralobar lung separations].

It is reported on six cases of intralobar and extralobar separation on lung. Characteristical for both forms of malformation is a defective joining to the normal bronchus and the origin of artery vessel from aorta. Lobectomia is necessary in case of chronic inflammation or of a greater shunt volume. References to medical certification or professional ability are given.

[Differential diagnosis of round lung lesions--isolated tumor-like amyloidosis].

One case of isolated tumorlike amyloidosis of the lung is reported. The patient was found by mass radiographic survey. Before operation the histological diagnosis was unknown. The specimen of lung from thoracotomia showed tumorlike amyloidosis and independent from amyloidosis sarcoid granulomatosis of uncertain cause. Isolated tumorlike amyloidosis of the lung is a very rear diagnosis. Thus diagnosis before operation is very difficult. In case of circular focus of undetermined etiology surgical intervention is indicated to avoid delayed resection of bronchial carcinoma.

[Thoracical circular focus opacities--a problem of differential diagnostics (author's transl)].

Reported on tumourlike circular focus opacities in the thoracic X-ray photogramms of 34 patients, 27 of them were discovered by mass x-ray surveys. They include: 13 organoid tumours, 1 bronchial adenoma, 2 mucodermoid, 1 cystic adenocarcinoma of bronchus, 1 fibroma, 1 reticulo-cytoma, 1 bronchial papilloma, 7 cystic tumours, partially located in the mediastinum, 3 intrapulmonary malformations of blood vessels, 1 mediastinal neurinoma, and 3 cases with suspicion of organoid tumours. 29 patients had to undergo an operation. Finally the authors give a review of literature of indication for surgical treatment, and they represent guidelines for the medical expert assessment fitness for the National Service.

[The clinical significance of abnormalities of bronchial anatomy (author's transl)].

Abnormalities of the bronchi were found in 0.7-1.4% in patients examined by bronchoscopy or thoracotomy. In most cases there are no clinical symptoms. Anatomical abnormalities of the bronchi are the favoured localization for deformities, chronic inflammations and bronchial neoplasms. The altered topography must be considered if surgery is necessary. Case studies of 12 patients, 1 with bronchus trachealis, 7 with deformities of the lobus superior and 4 of the lobus inferior were analyzed and selected cases are described.
