Orthodontic extrusion and orthodontic extraction in preprosthetic treatment using implant therapy.

It has been well documented that orthodontic extrusion is a valuable adjunct to site preparation prior to implant placement. This treatment modality may also be utilized to salvage and restore an extensively damaged tooth for use as a natural abutment. By controlling the orthodontic phase, the hard and soft tissues can be manipulated into a position that permits aesthetic restoration. This article demonstrates the use of this procedure as an adjunct to site preparation and in conjunction with conventional restorative therapy.

Combined Modality Therapy↗

Transferring emergence profile created from the provisional to the definitive restoration.

One primary objective for implant therapy is the achievement of an aesthetic result, and this is significantly dependent upon the condition of the peri-implant soft tissue and the implant emergence profile. The requisite for the configuration of the definitive crown is formulated by the provisional restoration, which transfers the position of the implant and the peri-implant soft tissue to the model utilized in the fabrication process. This article demonstrates the use of a provisionalization stage to precisely replicate the peri-implant tissue in the definitive restoration.

A milled implant-supported removable partial denture.

Implant supported prostheses are highly successful restorations. There are multitudes of differing designs for these restorations. It is advantageous to retain some nervous input from the remaining dentition. The treatment modality presented in this paper not only has the support, stability, and retention necessary for all restorations, some of the remaining teeth are retained and are included in the restoration design.
