Optimizing multiple individual anterior implant restorations with a new generation implant-abutment system; IMZTwinPlus: a case report and treatment rationale.

A 53-year-old male with a history of initial oral facial trauma causing the loss of three maxillary incisors, multiple failures of tooth-borne fixed prosthetic reconstructions, and a resultant condition of structural failure of abutment cuspids and lateral incisor was to be retreated. The case contained numerous anatomic and dimensional constraints. The patient's desire to achieve a long-term, dependable prosthetic reconstruction prompted professional consideration of incorporating implants to lend structural support in the edentulous area. An extensive review of current implant-abutment options and their single-tooth implant replacement design and treatment rationales was conducted. The IMZ Generation III (IMZTwinPlus) implant system, a nonhex system, was chosen for treatment of the case of report to optimize mechanics, biomechanics, and esthetics for multiple individual-tooth implant replacement.

Implant-retained precision two-stage single-tooth replacement.

The restoration of an anterior edentulous space due to a congenitally missing lateral incisor presents the dentist with a restorative challenge. Treatment of a young patient requires that the restoration be conservative as well as esthetic. This article presents the rationale for use of an osseo-integrated implant to support a single-tooth restoration. The final result was esthetic, functional, and promoted a healthy periodontium.

Lipswitch vestibuloplasty in conjunction with implant placement.

Soft-tissue maintenance is crucial to the long-term success of an implant-retained prosthesis. This article describes a method for improving the soft-tissue support for implants using a lipswitch procedure that can be performed in conjunction with the implant placement surgery. The result is a potentially healthier, more maintainable periodontium.

Dental implants placed in a patient with multiple myeloma: report of case.

A 69-year-old male, under active treatment for multiple myeloma, fractured his left maxillary second premolar palatal abutment tooth and requested treatment because his upper partial denture no longer fit. Several other teeth were deemed hopeless, and construction of a maxillary complete denture presented problems. There are general contraindications regarding dental implant surgery in the terminally ill patient; however, in this case, the patient wished to maximize his quality of life and opted to undergo implant surgery. With close management, the treatment was successful.
