Nursing home dentistry.
A recent review of international literature on dentistry in geriatric nursing homes reveals an epidemic of undertreated caries, periodontal disease and edentulousness. Obstacles to a remedy are the complex medical condition of the elderly, confusion over protocol and inadequate funding.
