[Problems of ethics, deontology and esthetics in pathology practice].

Relationships between pathologists on the one hand and clinicians, patients asking for histological slides, relatives of the deceased persons on the other are extremely complicated and need special attention. Pathology service should not be considered as second-rate. Ethic problems in the pathology service are not yet properly dealt in the literature.

Esthetics↗

[A rare defect of esophageal development, simulating cancer].

One case of the semilunar valve of the cardial oesophageal aperture in a 86-year-old female is described. The condition simulated carcinoma and resulted in the development of megaesophagus with a diverticule and forestomach formation. Colon diverticulosis was also observed. The complex of clinical and morphological manifestations characterizes this pathology as a peculiar syndrome. Syndrome of the semilunar aperture into the stomach with formation of the megaoesophagus, diverticules, forestomach and colon diverticulosis-Shmurun's syndrome.

[Allergic vasculitis in benign prostatic hyperplasia combined with a latent prostatic carcinoma].

Histological examination of the removed prostate from a 66-year-old patient discovered glandular hyperplasia, atypical hyperplasia and small focus of poorly differentiated (latent) adenocarcinoma. There were nodular lymphocytic infiltrates in the adenoma, in the peripheral parts of the node there was destructive thrombovasculitis and productive granulomatous vasculitis in the presence of diffuse lymphohistiocytic infiltration. Vascular changes resembled those in Winiwarter [correction of Winivater]-Berger disease. Vasculitis is thought an allergic reaction.
