Medical ethics should not be subsumed under the classical types of ethical reasoning (e.g. Aristotle, Kant) nor the modern ethical versions of utilitarianism, deontology or ethics of discourse. All of them may contribute to medical ethics; but these should be goaled by general ethics in the meaning of how to lead a senseful life in its whole.

After 10 years of disease a Turkish boy and his sister were diagnosed to suffer from familial Mediterranean fever. Because an elder brother showed the symptoms of recurrent attacks of fever, abdominal pain, arthralgias and nephrotic syndrome due to amyloidosis. When these symptoms occur in residents of the Mediterranean area, the diagnosis "Familial Mediterranean Fever" has to be taken into account.
In regard to other intestinal malignomas colon cancer shows the chance of a long survival time. In cases of stage Dukes A and B the patient has a 5 year survival time of 100 to 82% depending on his age. In carcinoma of the rectum preoperative biopsy is necessary. In cases with grade III we prefer the exstirpation. The Erlangen magnetic closure of the colostomy gives continence in 70%.
