We report a case of seminoma associated with crossed fused renal ectopia and a duplicated vena cava. The impact of these congenital anomalies on the treatment of testicular seminoma is discussed.
A case of peripherally calcified renal mass is presented which was interpreted as being a benign, calcified, developmental nephrogenic cyst. A differential diagnosis of calcified renal masses is presented.
Our 3 patients with simultaneously-occurring hypernephromas treated with simultaneously-directed surgical therapy on both kidneys are described. One patient died with residual neoplasm 2 1/2 years postoperatively, while the other 2 patients are alive and presumably free of tumor 60 and 22 months postoperatively.
Observations made upon dogs and humans with apparent infarction of the testis secondary to torsion of the spermatic cord suggest that the treatment of choice for questionably viable testis is detorsion of the cord, replacement of the testis in its hemiscrotum, and fixation of the opposite testis. This form of therapy may be applicable to all "torsed testes" regardless of viability.
