Pseudo-Chédiak-Higashi anomaly.

Pseudo-Chédiak-Higashi (PCH) anomaly was seen in a patient with a myelodysplastic syndrome evolving from pancytopenia with normocellular marrow to a myeloblastic leukemia over a period of 72 months. This case is reported.

Chlorpropamide-induced pure RBC aplasia.

A 70-year-old man experienced pure RBC aplasia after high-dose chlorpropamide therapy. This is the second reported case of pure RBC aplasia associated with chlorpropamide. Cessation of the drug therapy was followed by rapid and sustained complete return to a normal hemoglobin level. A brief review of pure RBC aplasia is presented.

Pathogenesis of jaundice in histiocytic medullary reticulosis. A correlative scintigraphic, histologic and biochemical study.

Liver scanning with 131Iodine Rose bengal was performed on two patients with histiocytic medullary reticulosis. The diagnosis was confirmed in both cases on subsequent autopsies. The studies demonstrated obstructive pattern in both cases on scanning and correlated well with the biochemical and histological findings. The pathogenesis of jaundice in this condition is reviewed and it is suggested that intrahepatic obstruction plays a significant role in its causation.
