[Initial experiences with a new stereo roentgen technic in general radiology].

A new stereo X-ray technic, which is simple, easy to handle, universally applicable and without intrinsic disadvantages for the patient, is demonstrated. The two attributes of stereo X-ray, exact spatial representation of the relationship between structures and the addition of the two stereo pictures to give better signal/noise ratio are explained. The efficiency of this method is presented with investigations of the G.I. tract, abdominal angiography and the knee arthrography.

[Arthrography with Hexabrix--report of experiences].

Arthrography using the contrast medium Hexabrix was performed in 120 patients. The knee arthrographies executed in double-contrast technique showed very good contrast, thanks to the chemical and physical properties of the contrast medium, in x-rays taken 1 to 3 minutes after injection of the contrast medium. Even if the x-ray films were taken 15 minutes after administration of the contrast medium, the results were still good. The contrast medium is well tolerated.

[Improved identification of details in double-contrast studies of the stomach using a new mixture of contrast media].

In a contrast medium study, 100 patients were employed for a comparison between the contrast medium Mikropaque liquid and a mixture of Mikropaque HD and Mikropaque liquid in double-contrast examination of the stomach. The special feature of this method was that one and the same stomach was examined in each case with both contrast media. The new contrast media mixture with Mikropaque HD represents a step forward; the contrast could be enhanced in 80% of the cases, and the finely contoured relief became visible in two-thirds of the cases, compared with one-third of the examined patients before this method was introduced.

[An improved method of examining the stomach by thincoating double-contrast technique (author's transl)].

Double contrast techniques represent a considerable advance in improving diagnostic accuracy during examinations of the stomach. This technique was developed primarily by Japanese workers (H. Shirakabe and others) for the diagnosis of early carcinoma of the stomach and has reached a high degree of excellence. A particular technique of this method is the use of thin coating of the gastric mucosa. This paper deals with the principal of this examination and its use and is illustrated by a number of examples.
