In June 1999, a cluster of patients with viral hemorrhagic fever were reported in central provinces of Iran. Similar cases were subsequently verified in other parts of Iran. During June 1999 to February 2004, a total of 255 patients were recorded in Southeast of Iran. The epidemiological features, clinical manifestations, treatment and outcome will be discussed.
We report a case of compartment syndrome of the left upper limb following hemorrhage due to Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever in a 45-year-old man. As far as we know, there is not such a report in the literature. We discuss clinical manifestations, electrophysiologic findings, differential diagnosis, and management of the patient. A high degree of awareness for an early diagnosis may participate to improve the poor prognosis.
Chronic invasive aspergillous sinusitis is an uncommon disease that usually occurs in healthy individuals. Chronic invasive aspergillus sinusitis is inadequately characterized entity. Despite its rarity, it is going to be recognized increasingly. We report a neglected patient who received several courses of antibiotics before definite diagnosis. Clinical manifestations, differential diagnosis and treatment are discussed. A high degree of awareness for an early diagnosis may participate to improve the poor prognosis.
