The genome sequence of the fungus gnat, Macrocera phalerata Wiedemann in Meigen, 1818 (Diptera: Keroplatidae).

We present a genome assembly from an individual female Macrocera phalerata (fungus gnat; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Keroplatidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 572.81 megabases. Most of the assembly (97.46%) is scaffolded into 5 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 20.98 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.

Diptera

The genome sequence of the 16-spot Ladybird, Tytthaspis sedecimpunctata (Linnaeus, 1758) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae).

We present a genome assembly from an individual male Tytthaspis sedecimpunctata (16-spot Ladybird; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Coccinellidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 355.68 megabases. Most of the assembly (88.7%) is scaffolded into 10 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 18.38 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.

16-spot Ladybird

The genome sequence of a blow fly, Melanomya nana (Meigen, 1826) (Diptera: Calliphoridae).

We present a genome assembly from an individual male Melanomya nana (blow fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Calliphoridae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1 391.98 megabases and 1 424.34 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.62%) is scaffolded into 5 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 27.12 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.

Diptera

The genome sequence of the Locust Fly, Stomorhina lunata (Fabricius, 1805).

We present a genome assembly from an individual female Stomorhina lunata (the Locust Fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Rhiniidae). The genome sequence is 728.1 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 16.49 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 18,358 protein coding genes.
