We present the computed tomographic (CT) findings in two cases of small bowel diverticulitis, one affecting the jejunum and the other a Meckel's diverticulum. The main CT finding was that of a mass with an air-fluid collection in contiguity with small bowel loops.
Thirteen patients' status post repair of thoracic aortic dissection were studied with both magnetic resonance and angiography. MRI was an accurate modality in identifying residual dissection when aortography was used as the gold standard. MRI can be used as a noninvasive modality for the follow-up of these patients.
Three soldiers presented with a painful swelling of the sternoclavicular area. Computed tomography (CT) studies showed sclerosis as well as lysis of the medial end of the clavicle with adjacent soft-tissue swelling. Bone biopsy revealed new bone formation and inflammatory reaction; cultures were negative, no tumor cells were found. The patients recovered after antibiotic treatment. Although the CT findings cannot completely rule out a malignant lesion, these changes in the medial end of the clavicle in young people may suggest trauma as the etiology.
The typical MRI features of hydatid cyst in soft tissue/muscle are presented and discussed.
