[Tracheal suture with a monofilament thread in animal experiments].

Interrupted and continuous sutures were used in formation of tracheo-tracheal anastomosis in 13 guinea pigs. Insoluble prolene thread served as suturing material. Histologically, at the site of interrupted sutures there were structural changes of the tracheal wall in the form of lacunar dissolving of the cartilage and large granulomas of foreign bodies around the knot. Cartilaginous layer at the site of the continuous suture remained unchanged.

Anastomosis, Surgical↗

[Morphological evaluation of structural changes in the tracheal wall at the site of braided and monofilament sutures in experimental animals].

To select the most adequate suture material for tracheal surgery the authors studied tissue specimens of tracheal anastomoses from 18 guinea pigs. Scar replacement of the cartilage plate occurred more frequently in monofilament prolene suture compared to braided vicryl. Tracheal wall structural changes were related to rigidity of the suture material. The rigidity was higher in monofilament material and increased with the filament thickness.

[Blood reinfusion in injuries of the thorax and abdomen].

The article is devoted to the assessment of efficiency of reinfusion of blood in patients with injured internal organs of the chest and abdomen and its influence upon the hemostasis system. The cavitary blood due to possessing a number of specific qualities has been shown to be a valuable transfusion medium. Its reinfusion does not aggravate abnormalities of the hemostasis system resulting from massive blood loss due to chest and abdominal traumas.
