This paper presents some questions about the legislation that affects nursing practice. Authors analysed how the principles of this legislation have been used in the psychiatric nursing teaching process.
An improved procedure for the generation of high-avidity anti-human B blood group monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) was developed. One of them, termed 7A1-2, showed excellent qualities of titer, avidity, and intensity required for use as human B blood typing reagent. Hemagglutination inhibition studies with monosaccharides and oligosaccharides were carried out to determine the specificity of the MAb 7A1-2. These studies indicate that the antibody reacts with the immunodominant region of the antigen which is known to confer the serologic specificity of this blood group.
The emergency psychiatric services implantation in general hospitals, at São Paulo City, motivated the authors to write this article. They present some considerations about psychiatric emergencies and the main points in nursing care of the client in a crisis intervention setting.
This study emerged from the preoccupation to evaluate the learning needs of psychiatric nurses working in an ambulatory of Mental Health. We verified the type of education they had, the actions they performed and the difficulties and facilities they found in the development of nursing interventions. It was also examined whether these actions are in conformity to the ones prerecognized by the literature or not. The data analysis showed that the majority of the actions are performed by nurses in distinct manners in 6 ambulatories. We perceived, in some events, the "function deviation" in nursing activities of nurse and the nursing team.
With this study the authors want to furnish the nurses with one more reference source to guide their actions in caring for the patient with manifestation of reality withdrawal. Some concepts of withdrawal are presented and, summarily, the clinical manifestation. Nursing care is described considering their problems and general measures to be taken into account for patients individuality.

The present study, realized in a psychiatric emergency service, discusses the evaluation of nursing notes as one of the aspects which reflect the quality of nursing care. Analysing the results, we found that the note is commonly make by personnel less qualified of the nursing staff. By the analysis of their contents, we found that these notes, made this way, have made little contributions to evaluate the state of the patient. We also verified that it is necessary to train the auxiliary nursing personnel, not only in behalf of the notes, but also for the complete care of the mentally ill in emergency situations.
