[Brain monoamines and their metabolites in Vistar and Krushinskiĭ-Molodkina strain rats].

The results of the studies devoted to defining the content of biogenic monoamines and their metabolites in different parts of cerebrum in rats of two inbred Vistar and Krushinsky--Molodkina lines are presented. It is proved that the intact rats of Krushinsky--Molodkina line differ from Vistar rats in the higher contents of adrenaline and dopamine of the hypothalamus and striatum, of serotonin in the hypothalamus. Also, the tendency to lowering noradrenaline in the hypothalamus and striatum, as well as the higher activity of the pathways of oxidative desamination and O-methylation in the hypothalamus was shown. The pronounced shift in the level of monoamines and its metabolism has been observed under the influence of immobilization in Vistar rats. At the same time, none of the neurochemical parameters are altered in the rats of Krushinsky--Molodkina line. The results obtained are regarded from the point of view of genetically determined balance of activating and inactivating influence differing in various lines.

[Catecholamine metabolism during adaptation to muscular activity].

In rats, an increased O-methylation in the brain, heart, liver, and in the m. gastrocnemius as well as an increased intensity of oxidative desamination in the liver were revealed after muscular training and administration of retabolile. After additional 70-min swimming, in intact rats the MAO activity was raised in the liver, and the intensity of O-methylation - in the muscle and the heart. In rats adapted to muscular training, no increase of O-methylation in the heart or MAO activity in the liver was observed which may be regarded as an adaptive hypometabolic reaction of the organism for a more "ecomonic" usage of the catecholamines. An increase of the catecholamines contents was revealed in adrenals of the rats after training and retabolile administration. The 70-min swimming obviously suppressed the catecholamines synthesis in the rat adrenals. The synthetic activity of the adrenals in trained animals was also decreased, although insignificantly, which resulted from the preliminary adaptation of the organism to muscular activity.

[Catecholamines, their precursors and metabolites in human fatigue after exertion].

Alterations in metabolism of catecholamines were studied in sportsmen after development of acute fatigue as a result of the test physical loading. Three types of the alterations were characterized on the basis of differences in excretion with urine of free and sulphate-bound adrenaline, noradrenaline, of their precursors DOPA and dopamine as well as acid metabolites (vanillyl mandelic acid). The first type of the alterations in catecholamines metabolism comprized the cases, when excretion of catecholamines, their precursors and metabolites did not increase; this appears to relate to the partial exhaustion of hormones and peripheric mediators of sympathoadrenal system. The second type was characterized by decreased excretion of the substances studied, by development of the "perversed" reactions due to modifications in the regulatory system, which led to the inhibition of the system instead of its stimulation. The third type was manifested as the hyperfunction of the system. The increased synthesis of catecholamines during the hyperfunction suggests that this process serves as a compensatory reaction to their preceding elevated secretion; the phenomenon appears to depend on the increased secretion of the newly formed catecholamines. Excretion of catecholamines and their precursors was decreased for a long time after development of chronic fatigue in the resting state and the increase in excretion of the substances studied was not observed after physical loading.
