This paper deals with the variations in the shapes of superior orbital fissures in 214 skulls of the Anthropology Museum of the Anatomy Department of GSVM Medical College, Kanpur. 9 types of the shapes of the superior orbital fissure have been found in the present study.

214 skulls were studied for the present study. A small foramen in the squamous part of the occipital bone just behind foramen magnum was noticed for the passage of emissary vein in one skull only, probably connecting occipital sinus with suboccipital venous plexus.
1,276 adult Indian skulls were examined for the incidence of the metopic suture. It was observed that metopism was present in 2.66% of the skulls and metopic sutures were present in 38.17% of the skulls. The metopic suture was present in the lower part of the frontal bone in various shapes in 35.27% of cases. The incidence in the upper, upper middle and lower middle parts of the frontal bone is 0.8% in each type. Besides the above-mentioned findings a peculiar type of shape was seen in 0.63 (inverted y) and a radiating type in 0.31% of the skulls.
The paper deals with the presence of interparietal bone in a single or more pieces out of a series of 1,500 skulls of the Anthropology Museum of Anatomy Department, GSVM Medical College, Kanpur. It was found to be present in 0.3% of cases. It has no morphological importance but it certainly has a morphogenetic bearing.
