[Effect of substance P, neurokinin A and a selective agonist of tachykinin receptors of the NK-2 type on bile metabolism].

Based on the experiments on rats, changes of the level of bile secretion and chemical composition of bile following application of substance P, neurokinin A, and selective agonist of the NK-2 tachykinins receptors neurokinin A Fragment (4-10), are interpreted. These results demonstrate that tachykinins (SP, NKA, and NKA Fragment (4-10)) are true holeretics and affect various enzyme systems in the hepatocyte. The alterations of the coefficients of bile confirm that.

[Bile secretion in the liver caused by verapamil].

Verapamil was studied for its effects on secretory function of liver in rats. In the animals with low initial level of bile secretion, infusion of verapamil resulted in increase of the bile flow conjugated with taurine bile salts and ester of cholesterol, and in reduction of the non-conjugated bile salts secretion, as well as bile salts conjugated with glycine. In the animals with high initial level of the liver secretory function, verapamil decreased the bile flow, the secretion of unconjugated bile salts, and bile salts conjugated with taurine and glycine, phospholipids, cholesterol and its ester. The changes of bile flow and biliary secretion of bile acids and lipids in two groups of animals suggest that verapamil could be influenced in regulation of bile secretion depending on its initial level. Possible mechanisms of the bile secretion regulation by verapamil, are discussed.

[Effect of enkephalins on the liver secretory function].

A decrease in the bile flow and bile acids, proteins and lipids secretion in enkephalines infusion into the portal vein was revealed. The bile secretion changes under the effect of enkephaline seem to result from the latter effect upon metabolic processes in hepatocytes.

Animals↗

[Bile secretion induced by L-thyroxine and substance P in dogs].

I.M. administration of L-thyroxin activated hepatic secretory function and changed the bile chemical contents. The substance P intensified production of bile and increased the absolute contents of free and conjugated bile acids, cholesterine, bilirubin, and total protein in the bile.

[The effect of lactin on histamine-stimulated gastric secretion and choleresis].

Lactine was found to depress the level of the histamine secretion of the gastric juice and to reduce the debit of hydrochloric acid in dogs. This peptide suppressed mainly the spontaneous choleresis and alters the compound composition of the bile. Large doses of the hormone obviously suppress the transport of bilirubin into the secret.
