Aneurysmal bone cyst of the temporal bone: a case report.

Aneurysmal bone cyst in temporal region is rare. It is a benign condition and may extend intracranially. Total surgical removal is recommended, whenever possible in one stage or in multiple stages. Prognosis is excellent and total removal will effect a cure. An unusual case of aneurysmal bone cyst of temporal region is reported.

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans of scalp : a case report.

A case of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans of scalp involving the underlying bone, operated after recurrence by taking safety margin of 3 cm and skin deficit covered by transposition flap, is being reported. Modality of treatment has been discussed.

Ischemic lesions in basal ganglia in children after minor head injury.

Twenty-three children under the age of 6 1/2 years developed immediate unilateral weakness after an apparently minor head injury. Computed tomography disclosed a hypodense lesion in the basal ganglia. The lesion appeared to be caused by an infarct in the basal ganglia. All but one of the children recovered completely within 4 months.

Bilateral epidural haematoma.

Bilateral acute epidural haematoma are found in 2-10% cases. They are associated with high mortality. We have analysed twenty cases of bilateral epidural haematoma found over a period of eleven years. In 60% cases haematoma was across the midline and in 40% cases haematoma was found at different locations on either side. Skull fracture was present in 95% cases. Mortality in our series was 20%.

Intramedullary epithelial cyst of the spinal cord.

A female patient with an intramedullary cyst presented with a paraplegia. At operation an intramedullary cyst at the fourth dorsal level was found. The microscopic features of the cyst wall were suggestive of ependymal origin.

Cerebral hydatid cysts in central India.

Four cases of hydatid cysts of the brain are reported. All of the patients were under 18 years of age. One presented with a localized erosion of the skull and a characteristic cracked-pot sign. Angiographic findings were most useful in their diagnosis.
