[Preliminary pharmaphylogenetic study on Ranunculaceae].

OBJECTIVE: To deal with the correlation between phylogeny, chemical constituents and pharmaceutical aspects of Ranunculaceae, namely a pharmaphylogenic study of this taxon. METHOD: Based on chemical, pharmaceutical (both ethnopharmacologic and pharmacological) information, linking with different plant systems of Ranunculaceae. RESULT: Chemical constituents of this taxon included several natural groups: benzylisoquinoline alkaloid, ranunculin, triterpenoid glycoside and diterpene alkaloid etc. Ranunculin and magoflorine were found to present simultaneously in some plants of this taxon. CONCLUSION: Combining with therapeutic information, pharmaphylogenic research were in accordance with the phylogenetic system presented by Tamura that Ranunculaceae was proposed to be divided into six sub-families: Helleboroideae, Ranunculoideae, Cimicfugoideae, Isopyroideae, Thalictroideae and Coptidoideae. Results also supported the establishment of Cimicifugoideae.

[Studies on TLC fingerprint of flavonoids in rhizome of Polygonatum odoratum].

OBJECTIVE: To study the thin layer chromatographic (TLC) fingerprint of flavonoid constituents from Polygonatum odoratum, to set up the identification protocol of the herbal and provide scientific information for its quality control. METHOD: The ethanol extracts were separated on silica gel G precoated plate with a mixture of toluene-ethylacetate-formic acid (5:4:1) as the mobile phase. The spots were visualized with ammonia vapor, then were examined under ultraviolet light (365 nm). The plate was scanned at wavelengths of lambdaR = 500 nm, lambdaS = 280 nm. RESULT: A fingerprint of flavonoids of P. odoratum, with 10 specific fluorescent spots while examined under ultraviolet light, was set up. CONCLUSION: The method can be used for quality control of P. odoratum.

[Content of inorganic elements of Salvia miltiorrhiza root in different area and physicochemical properties of its growing soil].

OBJECTIVE: To provide basis of environmental factors of genuine crude drug, Salvia miltiorrhiza root. METHOD: On-the-spot investigation and indoor chemical analysis were made to study the physicochemical properties of growing soil and content of inorganic elements of S. miltiorrhiza, and obtained data were analysed with SPSS 10.0 software. RESULT: S. miltiorrhiza root of high harvest area accumulated Cu and Zn. In soil principal component analysis, no principal component was obvious. So the drug has good adaptability in ecological environment of soil. CONCLUSION: Ecological environment of soil isn't leading factor in forming genuine crude S. miltiorrhiza.

[Study on the physicochemical properties of cultivated soil of genuine crude and no-enuine crude Chinese Angelica].

OBJECTIVE: To provide basis for environmental factors of genuine crude Chinese angelica. METHOD: On-the-spot investigation and indoor chemical analysis were made to study the physicochemical properties of cultivated soil of Chinese angelica. RESULT AND CONCLUSION: The physical properties and the organic matte and mineral nutrition of cultivated soil of Chinese angelica are best in Min County, Gansu Province. The ecological environment is the leading factor in forming genuine crude Chinese angelica.
