[Changes in the spectra of lipoproteins and phospholipids in the blood serum of patients with chronic renal failure placed on programmed hemodialysis].

Lipid metabolism was examined over time in patients with chronic renal failure placed on programmed hemodialysis. Altogether 22 patients were examined, with the times of dialysis treatment lasting from 6 months to 3 years. In addition to routine studies of lipid metabolism, this patients' group was assessed for changes in the spectra of lipoproteins and phospholipids. It was revealed that the content of total lipids in blood serum increased because of the rise of the content of cholesterol and triglycerides, the content of low density and very low density lipoproteins and the cholesterol coefficient of atherogeneity also rose. During typing according to Friedereichson IIA, IIB and IV hyperlipidemia types were defined. During typing of normolipidemia according to T. F. Pirogova and B. L. Dundure, alpha 3A and alpha 3C normolipidemia types were identified. According to diffuse electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel, redistribution of lipoprotein fractions towards increase of low density lipoproteins was discovered, accompanied by the reduction of the percentage of phospholipids in these fractions.

[Cerebrospinal fluid chlorine-soluble proteins and lipoproteins in the differential diagnosis of cerebral infarct and brain tumor].

Results of determining the chemical composition and the electrophoretic spectrum of chlorine-soluble proteins and lipoproteins in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with cerebral infarctions and brain tumours are presented. The determinations showed non-identity of those proteins in the patients with the above diseases. The information obtained can be of value for solving a number of questions concerning the differential diagnosis, determination of the tumour character, as well as some other questions.

[Blood serum protein study in oncological patients].

The authors report the data on the protein spectrum of blood serum, examined by DEP method in PAAG in 21 patients with ovarian and endometrial cancer and in 20 female-donors. Totally 27 fractions were obtained. The following differences in proteinographs of the groups under examination were revealed: protein in the patients was reliably decreased by 30-90% in the 4th, 9th, 26th fractions, and it was increased by 25-100% in the 15th, 16th, 18th and 22d fractions; 62 patients showed the fraction with Rt 2.10 in the prealbumin zone, which was usually absent in donor blood serum. Moreover, proteinographs from patients with malignant neoplasms of different locatization were studied comparatively. It is believed that the differnces revealed may be used for diagnostic purposes.

[Various approaches to chemical characteristics of "atherogenic" and "antiatherogenic" classes of lipoproteins in patients with neurovascular diseases].

Purity of various classes lipoproteins was analyzed after precipitation of low and very low density lipoproteins by means of heparin in presence of 1 M MnCl2. Polyacrylamide gel disc electrophoresis was shown to be suitable procedure for studies of protein, lipid and phospholipid spectra of individual lipoprotein classes in order to evaluate the state of lipid metabolism in patients with various clinical forms of cerebrovascular pathology.
