Placental site trophoblastic tumor (PSTT) initially misdiagnosed as cervical carcinoma.

The placental site trophoblastic tumor (PSTT) is the rarest form of trophoblastic disease and shows a wide spectrum of symptoms. A 32-year-old women is presented with PSTT after abruptio in the 7th week of gestation which was initially misdiagnosed as cervical carcinoma on cervical punch biopsy. Therefore, a radical Wertheim-Held hysterectomy was done. The uterus showed a small tumor restricted to the cavum with no cervical infiltration, resembling in all histologic and immunohistochemical features a PSTT. The pelvic lymph nodes showed no metastases. There was no nephrotic syndrome. The patient showed no evidence of disease fourteen months after hysterectomy.

[Diurnal rhythm of cortisol following spontaneous labor].

The cortisol-day-rhythmic was studied in 93 spontaneously delivered newborns with a enzyme immunoassay. The results indicate that the cortisol-rhythmic is present both in umbilical cord and maternal venous blood.

[Sex-specific differences in the cortisol level post-partum].

The concentration of serum cortisol in umbilical vein and cubital vein blood was estimated from 93 mothers and their newborns with a cortisol enzyme immunoassay. In the maternal as also in the umbilical vein serum was found for boys significantly higher Cortisol levels, especially from boys of primiparae, coupling with a significant extended time of delivery.

[Postpartum ovarian vein thrombosis].

An 28 years old women came on his 7. post partum day with an lower abdominal pain on the right hand side with the diagnosis of an unilateral rotating ovarian tumor. After computed tomography, ultrasound and laparoscopy the adnectomia dextra by laparotomy was performed. In the histology we find an ovarian vein thrombosis. The following therapy was made with an therapeutic anticoagulation with heparin combined with an antibiotic therapy and later with an oral anticoagulation.
