This article presents an alternative method to correct the sagging neck with a local dermolipectomy and median platysma duplication. The technique is recommended mainly for the older patient with redundant skin and fat in that region and who, for some reason, does not want to undergo a facelift.
The surgery of microtia is a procedure that demands surgical and artistic skills, as well as precise planning of interventions. In cases where a functioning inner ear is present, functional and esthetic reconstruction is performed jointly with ear, nose, and throat surgeons. The middle ear plasty is performed through a transmastoidial approach at the time of the second stage of the outer ear reconstruction. We demonstrate the special requirements of this team approach and also pay a tribute to Burt Brent, who has set the standards of modern ear reconstruction.

One of the primary causes of labial wrinkling is soft-tissue volume loss. I suggest combining the various ancillary procedures with substantial tissue augmentation using autologous dermis grafts.
Various techniques for the correction of the aging perioral region are discussed. The authors emphasize the fact that one of the reasons of presenile lipwrinkling is soft tissue loss. As a remedy dermis grafting is recommended and is described in detail. The procedure can be combined with the standard techniques of perioral aesthetic surgery.
When new techniques become available and subsequently are adopted by a large number of surgeons, improvements occur and an average complication rate becomes apparent. It is the analysis of the unfavourable results and the complications that stimulates improvement. After nine years of experience in suction lipectomy this technique has become in our hands a very safe procedure. If the empiric laws of surgery are observed, complications are extremely rare. Good indication and choice of the right patient are the key to success and it is important to realize that the amount of volume reduction is dictated by the limited retractile elasticity of the skin.

Various possibilities of breast plasty after tumor surgery or for the correction of combined anomalies of the thorax and the breasts are discussed. In the augmentive procedures either local flaps or mammary prostheses as well as silicone rubber were used. The authors show a personal method where the remaining healthy breast is used for reconstruction.
