[Health status of children with speech disorders].

Preschool children with speech defects often have unfavourable history of family and perinatal diseases. Their health status is not satisfactory. Therefore, a special conditioning program should be developed and applied to children with speech defects.

[Hygienic principles of the optimal arrangement of working place for students during the training in computer use].

Experimental studies aimed at hygienic substantiation of requirements for optimal organization of a workplace for schoolchildren using computers have been carried out. Hygienic requirements for basic parameters and design of a desk and a chair intended for those working with computers are presented. Practical recommendations on the equipment of computer rooms in secondary schools are given.

[Hygienic electrooculographic evaluation of working conditions of school children using a computer].

The technique for the electrooculographic analysis of the visual system of schoolchildren working with computers is described. The strain of the oculomotor system and fatigue manifestation have been detected in children under unfavourable environmental conditions. It is recommended to use the derived indicators of evaluating electrooculograms when hygienically assessing the working conditions of schoolchildren using computers.

[Hygienic evaluation of artificial lighting in the classroom for studying information science and computer technics in secondary schools].

Body functioning state of schoolchildren was investigated under different lighting conditions of the computer keyboard and video display terminals (VDT). The findings of lighting engineering and physiologic studies showed that optimal conditions for the children working on computers should be ensured by two interdependent indicators, i. e., the level of lighting at the workplace and on VDT. The most favourable indicators of children's visual functions were established at the level of lighting of 400 lx at the workplace and 100 lx on VDT under general luminescent lighting.
