Efficiency of combined therapy with the use of transcranial micropolarization developed by the authors was analyzed in 30 children, aged 4-6 years, with speech delay and general mental impairment. In 60-80% of the cases, a high therapeutic effect of the new method has been achieved due to accelerated development of communicative behavior, speech and motor functions formation, increase of attention stability and improvement of perceptive and productivity processes of cognitive activity.
A number of factors were shown to affect human functional state: a decrease in the tolerance of transitory hypoxia, an enhanced excitability in the brain stem structures, etc., with the aid of infraslow electrical processes.

Steady potential (omega-potential) and infraslow oscillations of potentials within the 0.2-0.5 Hz range (zeta-waves) were simultaneously recorded in the hypothalamus, caudate nucleus, hippocampus, RF and cortex of the brain as well as in liver in chronic experiments on rabbits in resting, terminal state and in posthumous period. A compatibility of amplitude--temporal parameters of the processes under study was revealed in subcortical brain structures and in liver in resting state as well as their stability in repeated recordings at the same time on different days. Types of transitory processes were differentiated in the systems under study in crucial stages of terminal state. omega-potential and zeta-waves are shown as indices of state of cerebral structures and liver.

The paper presents results of measuring the electric impedance of an electrolyte solution and cerebral tissue on changes of parameters of the impulse current and contact surface of gold electrodes. During application of DC to cerebral deep structures distant steady potential shifts occurred in the brain regarded as a volume conductor. The polarization properties of the gold indwelled electrodes were estimated under these conditions.

A certain relation between spontaneous pattern and responses to tests of the slow electric processes (SEP) and the order of value of the measured potential was revealed within a single subcortical area of the human brain. A close relation between the constant component (within the range of 110 to 1 mV) and the markedness and character of clinical signs, was observed. A reproducible SEP response to psychological or motor tests was revealed within the ranges of the SEP variable component (from 1000 to 100 mcV and from 5-10 to 50-100 mcV) regarded, respectively, as the ranges of moderate and weak bioelectric signal. The subcortical equivalent and changes of the reproducible pattern in response to meaningless trigrams and words were only observed within the weak signal range. Existence of certain individual ranges of the SEP constant component was revealed in separate neuronal-glial populations. The data obtained show physiological and informative variability of SEP within a single neuronal-glial population in different ranges of the recorded potential's value, which may provide premises for elucidating neurophysiological mechanisms, of different levels for regulation of the links constituting cerebral systems for maintenance of various activities.
