[Ethnogenetics of the Komi-Zyrians according to data on the distribution of gene frequencies of erythrocyte and serum systems in the blood].

Distribution of gene markers of blood groups (ABO, RH, MN, KEL, and FY), erythrocyte enzymes (SOD-A and 6-PGD) and serum proteins (Hp, Gc, Tf, and ChE2) was studied in 10 ethnographic and geographic groups of Komis. Some of the groups studied differ significantly in the allele frequencies--B-ABO (0.163-0.289), Fy alpha (0.496-0.693), K (0.018-0.076)--and in haplotype frequencies of RH system--CDe (0.237-0.403), cDE (0.219-0.351), and cde (0.225-0.425). Average gene frequencies in Komis are considered in regard to ethnogenesis of the nation. It is demonstrated that Komis are genetically close to Finno-Ugrian ethnic groups of the Ural territory, but are different from Baltic Finns.

[Minor erythrocyte antigens: their sensitizing activity and rating in the practice of transfusion science].

A general situation in transfusiology influencing sensitization probability greatly differs from that in a panmictic population as blood transfusions are strictly controlled by ABO group and Factor D rhesus. However, with increasing hemotransfusion scope, clinical significance shifts to other factors, "minor" antigens of erythrocytes, which are not given due attention in hemotransfusions. Besides ABO factors and antigen D rhesus in practical transfusiology of importance are antigens C, c, E, e, K allosensitization to which is mainly observed in rhesus-positive subjects.

[Genetic markers of erythrocytes among the subpopulations of Komi].

In contrast to the majority of European and similarly to many Finno-Ugrian populations, the Komi show genetic signs of inclusion of the non-European ethnic groups, at the same time they retain Europeoid properties and take an intermediate place between the Europeoids and Orients. Local shifts in the frequency of genes and chromosomes, probably, reflect the complex, long-term and specific nature of the Komi subpopulations' ethnogenesis.

[Specificity of antibodies formed in people with Rh-negative blood in response to administration to antigens C(rh', Rh2) and Cw(rhwf, Rh8)].

Anti-C, -Ce, -CD sera and monoclonal anti-C-antibodies with red cells varying by Rh-phenotypes comprising antigen C(w) have been studied. Four Rh-negative volunteer donors were reimmunized with antigens C and C(w). As shown by reactions of anti-C-sera, monoclonal antibodies anti-C with C(w)-positive cells, results of immunisation of the Rh-negative donors with antigen C(w) of Rh system, red cels containing Rh antigen C(w) contain also factor rh(C).
