[Psychology of male and female desire for children. Developmental conditions of narcissistic, depressive and creative aspects].
Conscious and unconscious determinants of the wish for a child deriving from early childhood are demonstrated. In this context the elaboration of phase-specific narcissistic mortifications in connection with the recognition or repression of ambivalence is given prime importance. The acceptance of the ambivalence and triangulation have the effect that the creative aspects in the later wish for a child are more powerful than the narcissistic or depressive parts.
