[The differential diagnosis of syringomyelia from pseudosyringomyelitic ulcero-mutilating acropathy].

The authors describe some differential diagnostic criteria of atypical syringomyelia and pseudosyringomyelitic acropathy. It was found that trophic disorders in the skin, metatarsal bones were in atypical syringomyelia usually associated with sensibility disorders of the dissociated type in the zone of corresponding segments. In pseudosyringomyelitic acropathy trophic and skin changes precede sensibility disorders and do not always correspond to innervation zones of the lower extremities. Dysraphic state is of importance for the diagnosis of syringomyelia.

[The clinical and treatment characteristics of patients with herpes zoster in different locations].

An analysis is presented of the clinical course and results of treatment of 102 patients with herpes zoster. The spinal ganglia of the thoracic region and trigeminal nerve ganglia were most frequently involved. The disease was manifested not only in local disorders but also in generalized systemic vegetative-trophic and vascular disorders. The authors report a high therapeutic efficiency of complex treatment of patients with herpes zoster using antiviral, antiherpetic and detoxification agents, immunostimulators, vegetotropic drugs, physiotherapy and ointment applications.

[The hemodynamic, tissue oxygen balance and muscle blood flow indices of patients with multiple sclerosis].

The central and peripheral hemodynamics, oxygen tension in the muscles and tissue local blood flow was studied in the course of complex treatment in 37 patients with multiple sclerosis. Remissions of the disease were characterized by the hyperkinetic type of blood circulation, increased vascular tone of the peripheral vessels against the background of an increase of oxygen tension in the muscles and enhancement of local tissue blood flow in the tissues. Severe forms of the disease, progressing course and exacerbation were distinguished by the hypokinetic type of blood circulation, dystonic and atonic state of the extremity blood vessels, reduced pO2 and local blood flow in the tissues.

[Morphofunctional characteristics of autonomic disorders in patients with chronic alcohol intoxication].

Clinico-physiological and biochemical methods were used in 136 patients with chronic alcoholism and morphological investigations of the cingulum and hypothalamic region in 40 alcoholized rabbits with the purpose of evaluating vegetative disorders. The severity of anatomo-clinical changes depended on the stage of the neurotoxis process and duration of alcohol abuse. As alcohol intoxication advanced functional disorders were followed by organic.
