[Rifampicin preparations for internal use and their bioavailability].

Bioavailability of rifampicin in 150 mg capsules manufactured by 5 different companies was studied. Conditions for investigation of the rate of the antibiotic transfer into solution with the use of the "Rotating Basket" apparatus were determined and statistically significant differences were found. The drugs also differed in the level and rate of antibiotic absorption into the blood of humans.

[Bioavailability of ampicillin preparations for internal use].

Bioavailability of various ampicillin dosage forms was studied. No difference in the level and rate of the antibiotic absorption was observed with the use of ampicillin trihydrate and anhydrous ampicillin capsules and ampicillin trihydrate tablets. Significant differences in the rate of ampicillin transfer into solution from various dosage forms were noted in the studies with the "rotating basket" apparatus. No correlation between the rate of ampicillin transfer into solution and the level of ampicillin absorption was found.

[Bioavailability of peroral drug forms of oxacillin].

Bioavailability of experimental tablets and capsules of oxacillin was studied. Significant differences in absorption of the antibiotic from the above dosage forms were found. By the amount of the antibiotic absorbed the capsules were 3 times more effective than the tablets containing the same amount of oxacillin. The therapeutic concentrations of oxacillin in the blood after the use of the capsules persisted by an hour longer than after the use of the tablets. The results of the study on oxacillin absorption in rabbits allowed a prediction of the antibiotic absorption levels in humans.

[Disinfecting effect of fixatives in histoenzymatic analysis of Vibrio cholerae].

Data are presented on the disinfecting action of fixative fluids on the cholera causative agents in the freshly frozen sections from the tissues and organs of animals infected with cholera. The results obtained offered a possibility of drawing a conclusion on the harmlessness of the histoenzymatic studies on the material infected with cholera vibrio.

[On the sanitary-hygienic state of the drinking water supply facility and the organization of the sanitary and bacteriological control of the water supply of the population of Grozny in recent years].

Information on the state of water supply in Grozny in the time of peace, during the armed conflict of 1994-1996 and at the period of the antiterrorist operation in the year 2000 is presented. In the year 2000 the centralized water supply of the population proved to be completely paralyzed. The quality of water brought to the city and water from the sources of decentralized water supply considerably deviated from the norm by its bacteriological characteristics. The control of the quality of drinking water supplied to the population was carried out only by the bacteriological laboratory of the specialized antiepidemic brigade.

[The effect of the vole subspecies of the plague microbe on the viability of Callopsylla caspia fleas].

When infected with cultures of plague microbe reared at 28 C the experimental fleas showed no reliable differences in the mortality as compared to control ones. By contrast, the infection with agent cultures reared at 37 C as well as the infection on agonizing white mice caused a statistically reliable increase in the mortality in insects of both sexes. In the groups of fleas infected on white mice the most intensive mortality was observed during the first 24 hours after the infectious feeding that, apparently, is connected with the effect of toxins present in the blood of agonizing animals.
