[Effect of N-oxidized pyridine derivatives on lipid peroxidation in the livers of rats].

Effects of N-oxide 2,6-dimetilpyridine (ivin) on the intensity of lipid peroxidation (in vivo and in vitro), microsomal hydroxylation and secretion of the bile (in vivo) were investigated. It has been shown that the preparation did not act significantly on the rate of lipid peroxidation in the liver homogenates both in vivo (5 mg/100 g, 4 weeks) and in vitro (10(-6)-10(-2) mol, incubation). Ivin did not change the activity of the microsomal hydroxylation (hexenal), but stimulated the excretion of biliary organic and inorganic components. The role of NO as a transmitter for effects of N-oxide 2,6-dimetilpyridine and the possibility of its influence on the processes under exploration via the modification of the structure of a biomembrane have being discussed to be one of the basic mechanisms.

[Mechanisms of generating calcium signals in exocrine acinar cells].

Review. Modern data about mechanisms of generation of the calcium signals in the exocrine acinar cells are presented. The mechanisms of inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate- and Ca(2+)-induced Ca2+ release from intracellular stores of the acinar cells and mechanisms their influx from extracellular medium are described. The mechanisms which initiate Ca2+ oscillations and their role in the secretion of the fluid and enzymes by acinar cells are discussed.

[The effect of dimethylethanolamine on the summation capacity of the central nervous system and on the work capacity of animals in a chronic experiment].

The effects of inhaling action of dimethylethanolamine (twenty-four-hour for four months (on summarizing liminal index, SLI) and efficiency of white rats in dependence on various concentrations of amino alcohol were studied in chronic experiments. The obtained results allowed to conclude, that high (2.76 mg/m3) concentration of dimethylethanolamine influenced on functional state of central nervous system. SLI changes pointed to disturbance of dynamic equilibrium between processes of inhibition and excitation with prevalence of latter. In the same time the sufficient grounds for the attribution of dimethylethanolamine to myorelaxants were absent, since in our experiments we used only very high concentrations of this agent.

[Role of the lipid matrix of plasma membranes in the process of transmission of information by regulatory peptides].

Role of lipid matrix of target cell plasma membrane in the process of regulatory peptides information message has been considered. The calculation of information quantity of regulatory peptide molecule in solution and excess coefficient at peptide transition from extracellular volume to membrane surface have been carried out. Possible ways of using of excessing for regulatory peptides receptors information by lipid matrix have been proposed.

[The surface-active properties of angiotensin].

The surface activity of angiotensin-2 was studied using the method of dynamical capacitor and Wilgelmi. Angiotensin was shown to possess the surface activity, forming well regulated insoluble monolayers of liquid-gas interfaces with peptide adsorption of 3.7 x 10(-6) M/sm2 and area of 0.45 nm2 per one molecule. It is assumed that due to these properties angiotensin-2 under physiological conditions can interact with molecules of the lipid matrix of biological membranes.

[The interaction of angiotensin with lipid monolayers].

The studies of lipid monolayers showed the interaction of an angiotensin-2 and lipid monolayers to be a two-stage process. In the first stage peptide molecules were adsorbed due to electrical interaction in the plane of polar heads of lipid molecules. In the second stage peptide molecules incorporated into the lipid matrix owing to hydrophobic interactions. These results suggest that the lipid matrix may perform the function of a catalyst of the peptide-receptor interaction by changing the spatial structure of angiotensin molecules at the transition of the latter from hydrophobic environment.

[The surface activity of vasopressin and its interaction with artificial and biological membranes].

It was determined that vasopressin has surface active properties and in nanomolic concentrations is capable to incorporate in lipoprotein monolayers which are formed from myocytes plasma membranes. By means of pH-metric and fluorescent analysis it was shown that vasopressin interacts with other membrane structures which have no specific receptors--phosphatidylcholinic liposomes and vesicles of sarcoplasmic reticulum of skeletal muscles causing increasing permeability of phospholipid bilayer for Ca2+ ions.

[Interactions of bradykinin and its amino acids with lipid monolayers].

The authors studied the interaction of bradykinin and aminoacids which are in its molecule composition with lipid monolayers. It is supposed that the primary process of bradykinin bounding with plasmatic membrane of the effector cells is the peptide interaction with membrane lipid matrix.

[The surface-active properties of dimethylethanolamine and its effect on the ecto-ATPase activity of plasma membranes].

It has been stated that DMAE has low surface activity and can form extended monolayers, in which orientation of molecules depends on the concentration of amino alcohol. The concentration of DMAE rated as 10(-6)-10(-5) M does not show significant changes in ecto-ATPase. Effect of such concentration is completely reversible. Cytotoxic effect manifesting itself by a sharp decrease and blocking ecto-ATPase activity is not completely reversible and appears at DMAE concentrations higher than 10(-4) M.

[Ca2+-pump in myocytes of the small intestine].

The characteristics of Ca(2+)-pump in smooth muscle of the rabbit small intestine were established. It was shown that Ca(2+)-pump was activated by the calmodulin and blocked by the oxytocin.

[Calcium binding by smooth muscle plasma membranes].

Calcium binding by the vesiculate fraction of rabbit small intestine myocyte plasma membranes was studied. It was shown that the membrane fraction as well as the muscle tissue contain two types of Ca2(+)-binding sites with binding constants of 2.3-2.5 x 10(4) and 2.1-1.25 x 10(3) M-1. The number of binding sites and their affinity for Ca2+ depend on the presence in the incubation medium of Mg2+, Na+ and ATP.
