[Effect of dopamine on transport of organic substances in dog kidneys].

I. v. infusion of dopamine increased diuresis, glomerular filtration rate, maximal reabsorption of glucose and tubular secretion of cardiotrast. Infusion of dopamine into the renal artery did not affect glomerular filtration rate and tubular secretion of cardiotrast while maximal reabsorption rate of glucose was increased. Dopamine exerted some direct effect on the transport of glucose, which effect can be blocked with haloperidol.

[Effect of sodium transport inhibitors on maximal glucose reabsorption and cardiotrast excretion by the kidneys].

Effects of intrarenal infusion of potassium cyanide and strophanthinum were studied in acute experiments on dogs. The decrease fractional of reabsorption of sodium to 80--82 per cent did not affect renal reabsorption of glucose and tubular excretion of cardiotrast. Combined infusion of strophanthinum and cyanide decreased the fractional sodium reabsorption to 65.6 per cent. During this period maximal reabsorption of glucose reduced but not so the tubular excretion of cardiotrast.

[Effect of insulin and prednisolone on the transport of organic substances in the kidneys of dogs].

Single injection of insulin (1 AU/kg) enhanced maximal glucose absorption, cardiotrast secretion and decreased sodium excretion without any changes of glomerular filtration in dogs. These effects depended on the direct action of insulin so far as the effect is expressed in the kidney only at the side of infusion when the preparation is administered into one of the renal arteries. Prednisolone had no significant effect on the glucose and cardiotrast transport in single injection (3--4 mg/kg) and 10-day (1.5--2 mg/kg daily) injections.

[Role of insulin in the regulation of the tubular reabsorption of glucose in the kidneys].

Glucose tubular transport in the kidneys in changes of insulin concentration in the blood was studied in acute and chronic experiments on dogs. Maximum glucose reabsorption in the kidneys was shown to remain unchanged in the stimulation of insulin secretion or depletion of insular function (alloxan diabetes). Neither did the administration of insulin into the renal artery at doses of 0.02-0.04 U/min for 30 min. influence glucose reabsorption which rose during hormone infusion at doses of 0.4-0.5 U/min only.
